Questions & Mysteries Do you think Luffy will truly defeat Big Mom?

#1
Big Mom was the first Yonko that Luffy picked a fight with, and during the WCI arc the bad blood between them got worse. Luffy has said multiple times that he wants to defeat Big Mom and whenever Luffy says he wants to defeat someone it usually ends up happening, so when it comes to Luffy vs Big Mom do you think Luffy will actually defeat her?

I guess he will. On Big Mom's side, her hatred for Luffy is so much that she travelled across the New World to put Luffy's head to spike. Her determination to kill Luffy is even more than that of Akainu's during Marineford. Sooner or later, they will meet and Big Mom will attack to not injure, but to directly kill Luffy. He has to beat her to free enslaved islands and not die.

Big Mom’s role is so weird this arc. She has to be defeated or change sides, because if she’s not gonna do something of importance in Wano/Onigashima and is just gonna leave to be brought back in another arc, what purpose did she serve in Wano? Just helping Luffy free Udon?

In conclusion, if she doesn’t fall or helps Luffy’s side (indirectly or not) this arc, Oda shouldn’t have made her and her crew come. Right now, I’m leaning towards Linlin turning on Kaido. Smoothie’s powers seem way too convenient to the people of Wano and their food and water poisoning problem to not be used with that purpose.

The way I see it there are 4 options:

1. Kaido and Linlin both go down this arc. No questions asked. Multiple people take them out, its a big deal.

2. Kaido goes down this arc. Luffy gets help in the matter (aka, it wasnt a fair fight at all, so he's still poised to be weaker than a Yonko). Linlin survives to Elbaf and is the main villain there. Luffy 1v1's her there.

3. Linlin never actually gets taken out. She becomes an ally or some outside factor just prevents her from being truly taken out by Luffy. Maybe someone else does the deed in the future.

4. Both Kaido and Linlin survive Wano and the whole arc is a big farce:lusalty: (Luffy's main battle is with someone else under Kaido)

What i don't see is Luffy soloing Kaido and Linlin together alone or I see him soloing Kaido one arc, then soloing Linlin in another. They are pretty much equal in ways, so there really is no growth involved in taking them both out alone, nor is Luffy strong enough to beat both on his own.
