Controversial Do you think Zoro will lose a Fight between now and the EoS?

#23
I will repeat - Did Zoro leave rooftop undefeated?

Oda is the one who draws Zoro thinking he never lost since Mihawk.
The only question is why is Oda doing that...
He wants Zoro to delude himself or he simply doesn't consider some things as a loss?
I think he wants Zoro to delude himself, because:
1. You himself says he lost, so why deny the truth
2. Pirates don't play fair

Oda wrote these things, so the only explanation is that he is depicting a character in denial.
Otherwise he would spell otherwise.

You just said he doesn't consider some things as a loss but before you were saying Kaido defeated him lol
No, that's not what I said.
Go back and read what I said.

I didn't say he lost, I said he was defeated.
Do you know the difference?
Or this is a case of audience failing to understand this matter, as I said from the start?

nope, Zoro is protected by plot armor of promise, he'll never lose a 1vs1 fight

Oda can only play with him in case of chaotic situations with multiple enemies or some distraction stuff. Things like Apoo, or Rooftop or Water 7 where he got distracted.

The closest thing I can think of complete & utter defeat was Enel, cause it was 5 against Enel alone. so this one alone I think counts as defeat, but even then, Oda's cope is Enel's DF is bad match up for Zoro + Enel isn't a swordsman or in general term isn't any type of blade user

but yeah, too much plot armor to protect this marimo hhhh

Care to say the difference semantically and ontologically between losing and being defeated?
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/defeated

to win against someone in a fight, war, or competition:

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/lose?q=to+lose

lose verb (BE DEFEATED)
B1 [ I or T ]
to fail to succeed in a game, competition, etc.:
If we lose this game, we're out of the championship.
They're losing 3–1.
They lost to Cincinnati.
Everyone hates losing an argument.
They hadn't lost an election in 15 years.

So, now synonym do not exist, Nik-kun? Climing on mirrors again?

There are no appropriate terms for this but the way I explain in Zoro's case:
I associate losing with Zoro picking a fight, fairly, 1vs1, fresh condition and not ending up as the winner of that challenge.
I associate defeat with Zoro being taken out, by any means necessary, by as many opponents as necessary.

Why I make this distinction?
Because it fits perfectly with Oda's showings regarding Zoro never losing since Mihawk.
One can never be the strongest when everything is on the table but one can be the strongest in a fair 1vs1 duel.

Not how english language works, nik-kun.
Pirates don't fight fairly, why are you going against the canon?
WB didn't need to be 1v1 to be the strongest, he simply was. There was no caveat, no excuse. Seems like you're creating artificial labels to justify your canon, while the manga states that WB was the strongest, and he was a pirate, a guy used to unfair fights.
Maybe if you want to do 1v1 you should stick to bounty hunting or shit like that, and leave fighting to the big leagues..
Or maybe that's why mihawk was shaking and shitting himself at teh idea of fighting real pirates without the entire marine army to support him like in marineford?

I told you there are no appropriate terms for it and gave you my explanation why I make that distinction.
Seems like you don't want to understand it on purpose. I am not the one going against canon, you are.
Zoro does not think that he lost since Mihawk. I understand why he thinks that, you don't.
Even for Kaido, who was stronger than WB, it said >if it is 1vs1, bet on Kaido. Even for him 2vs1 is not doable, lmao.
You walked into this one with a blindfold, eh?

I understand Zoro is in denial, that's what I understand.
As he lost many, many times. Yet you guys have to make excuses on what technically counts as a win or a loss.
You say to lose and get defeated are different terms, I show you the dictionary.
I show you canonically pirates do not care about 1v1, you ignore it.
You say Kaido is stronger than WB, but for WB nobody made any caveat. He was the strongest, no 1v1 bullshit to suit anyone narrative.
Because he was the strongest no matter what.

Take it up with Oda, he is the one who decides that Zoro thinks he never lost since Mihawk.
I told you my distinction between loss and defeat in Zoro's case, it is fine if you don't like it but fits with Oda's work.
It is not me who says that Kaido is stronger than WB, it is Oda and it is him who specifically points out 1vs1.

Not for WB.
Kaido title was never established before WB death, but nice try misrepresenting reality as always.
Oda points 1v1 only with Kaido, not WB.
Your definition doesn't even make logical sense in english mate.
And Zoro clearly lost 1v1 vs Ener when he picked all of them one by one.
Unless fighting an enemy and then another is not a 1v1, because if that is the case Zoro has not beaten nobody 1v1 in the time skip, since Pica was fighting other people and king was fighting Marco.
So what is it?

28 years ago, Kaido is the strongest.
He doesn't need to point out 1vs1 for WB when he pointed it out for someone stronger.
My definition makes perfect sense, whether you understand it or not.

Zoro lost to Enel after a gauntlet and 2 major fights, once exhausted and whatnot. Why would he blame himself for such defeat? lol
Pica wasn't exhausted nor was King, both were clean when they took Zoro on.
As I said, you don't understand it.

If he faces anyone beyond commander level right now then he will lose.
When he fights against Mihawk, he lose 2-3 times before he defeats Mihawk. Pretty much will be same as Luffy vs Kaido except for the outside help in recovery
