General & Others Does the community decrease or increase your enjoyment of a manga and its characters?

Over the years I've seen people say that being a part of a community is the only reason they've stuck with the manga. Some however say that being a part of the community decreased their enjoyment of the manga, and the characters as well, to extents that they've now grown to hate it and the characters even though they were previously, supposedly, fans.

How about you? This doesn't have to be strictly One Piece related, you can account for other manga, and other communities as well, not just this forum.

its almost as good as supporting a club in sports just with a fav character instead.

I caught up like a year ago lol. Still caught up now. The combination of MHA's drop in art quality and pacing, and the lack of substantial discussion isn't enough to keep me interested. I just recently reread the first 150 chapters which re-sparked my liking of the series. Forgot how great Overhaul was.

Yeah Overhaul in his arc was pretty amazing. Good enough that even with the thing I mentioned above I still have him in my top 3 faves, eclipsed only by Dabi and Hawks.

This is my first anime community/forum I've been proper part off and I wouldn't change it for anything. I've gotten to know some great users over the time I've been here and it's nice to be in a place where everyone has the same interests etc. I love reading the crazy predictions and the agenda pushing, it's entertaining as hell.

Lol I think Hawks was probably a victim of circumstance. When I first caught up to MHA it was near the end of Overhaul's arc so I had to read weekly by the time Hawks was introduced and started taking breaks then.
