Because the Strawhats aren’t carrying 7 Seraphim along with them to roll the Blackbeard Pirates.
Also, the entire point of giving the Gorosei the highest command authority was to put that into practice.

Members of the old generation dying is a common shounen staple. That shouldn’t shock anyone.
Or the Seraphim just get destroyed here and now

That’s basically impossible since it makes the entire plotline about replacing the Shichibukai pointless. We haven’t even seen all the Seraphim in action either, and they’ll still be an important part of the WG’s firepower in the Final War.

The WG is going to remain the dominant enemy until the end of the story. Saying the Seraphim will be destroyed is like saying that the Blackbeard Pirate Commanders are going to be killed before the Strawhats face them at Laughtale.

The plot line about the abolishment of the Warlords was to establish Cross Guild. The creation of the seraphim just gave oda a reason to allow the WG to abolish the system.

Could be

1.- WG first biggest accomplishment with Akainu as Fleet Admiral, capturing for the first time a Yonko Crew.
a) This would lead the grand fleet of Luffy to save him from Impel Down, also letting Doffy and Bon Clay escape and the beginning of the great war.
2.- Luffy and his crew defeating an Admiral

IMO only those 2 are the biggest events that can happen.

The abolishment of the system was set up well before Cross Guild. Cross Guild is simply a consequence of that and needing a place to sequester some characters until they become relevant. It’s pretty evident when it doesn’t even meet the long established criteria for a Yonko crew.

Either way, the power of the Shichibukai as agents of the WG still needs to be replaced. The replacement isn’t going to be destroyed after just a single arc.

The replacement will be destroyed. This arc is set to disrupt the entire balance of the world:

1. The World Government losing an Admiral
2. 3 Yonko all being 1-2 poneglyphs away from the One Piece
3. A Gorosei in danger

The world is set up to go completely of kilter. And the destruction of the seraphim and the balance of powers just goes along with that. As I said, story wise, the abolishment of the Warlord system was in order to trigger the creation of cross guild. That’s going to be the big effect on the world. The seraphim were just a plot device to give an in verse reason for why the WG would approve of the warlord abolishment. They can easily get destroyed and it not effect the story.

The balance of the world was already upset with the end of Wano & dissolving the Shichibukai.

The point was also to show the WG getting stronger despite that, not getting even weaker before the Pirate King even comes knocking at their door.
You don’t diminish your final antagonists before they even take the stage.

Again, that’s like proposing that Blackbeard will lose to Law or Garp before even facing the Strawhat pirates. It’s kinda ludicrous.

Not sure why you seem to hold Cross Guild in such high regard.
Again, they’re still the weakest link among the Yonko…and having 1 joke Yonko crew with the least relevance that’s only going to be even more irrelevant when Luffy is crowned Pirate King wasn’t the resolution to a plotline to make the WG even more dangerous by shedding them of the unreliable Warlords.

The WG is still the ultimate antagonist of the story. Cross Guild is just an amusing side note along the way.

No group that involves Zoros final opponent is just “a side note”
