Current Events Egghead is an escape arc. Why do people keep ignoring this?

That was the plan, but now escaping is no longer an option. Kuma is on a one path mission. Kill Saturn. Kuma is not going to leave. If Kuma doesn't leave, Bonney won't leave, and in turn, Luffy isn't going nowhere.
Not to mention, it would be utterly absurd if Oda had the first confrontation of the Straw Hats being a Yonko Crew, end with them running away. There is still doubts in peoples minds as to the validity of the Straw Hats being a Yonko caliber crew. Egghead was intentionally designed to squash all those doubts. Them running away would have the exact opposite effect.
Them running at this point is not happening.

If you genuinely believe this just for the sake of "muh tension, muh stakes", you have absolutely no capacity for reading comprehension.
1. The Straw Hats are a Yonko crew now and Oda spells out through Luffy's dialogue that things won't be the same as they were 2 years ago.
2. We got an entire flashback dedicated to not just Kuma's life, but how fucking awful Saturn is and how important Nika is to Kuma and Bonney.
Given these two main points, how does one come to the conclusion that Luffy won't provide some form of catharsis by showing Kuma and Bonney his G5 form and at least put Saturn on the backfoot if not outright defeat him? Some of you need to stop reading Agenda Piece and start understanding basic narrative.
The insecurity is so obvious when denying Luffy vs Saturn as a possible (almost certain) matchup lol, you just can't stand the idea of Luffy shining in his first arc as a Yonko.

Luffy went all out just to match Kizaru. Saturn should be even stronger than kizaru. And they are surrounded by marines. And Saturn has the pacifista on his side.
In what world would it make sense to try to defeat Saturn?

Why would this be the case? Luffy arguably looked to be in worse shape than Kizaru. Even if he sympathizes with vegapunk, he ultimately came to Egghead to kill him.

We already know a pretty good chunk about Saturn. He wasn't built up to the same extent that Big Mom and Kaido were, so I don't think he needs to be as prominent in the story as they were.
There's 5 Gorosei and not all of them are gonna get a ton of screentime or characterization. I think Saturn's already gotten enough that the audience has a reason to give a shit about him and wants to see him defeated.

Personally I'm not against the direction Oda's taking the whole Nika thing in, even if I think the reveal would have been more natural if it was introduced sooner.
I think the direction they're going in with Joyboy/Nika is that he's someone who gives others hope and enables them to pursue their dreams. It's been implied a couple of times that Nika (as in the actual god) doesn't really exist, but the fruit is there because of people like Kuma and Bonney choosing to have hope and not give in to oppression.
Plus given how central fate is to Blackbeard's character I do think they're going to explore the whole "fate vs freedom" idea more in-depth later on
