Two guesses about the dlc
1. There will be an optional dragon boss.
2. The final boss of the dlc story won't be revealed in any promotional material and will even be a surprise to people playing it for the first.
Messmer is like Lady Maria with Old Hunters imo
Even though they're the promotional character for the dlc and a "mascot" in a sense, they aren't the final boss of it
Artorias was the mascot even though he wasn't the final boss

Miyazaki did an interview with Eurogamer and confirmed some things about the DLC:
-Miyazaki said that he realized his love for developing poison swamps and there is a new poison swamp in SOTE (I am not kidding)
-Miyazaki said the difficulty is comparable to Elden Ring’s end game, with there being one Malenia level boss (we can assume this is Messmer probably)
-He said the DLC’s playable area is comparable to Limgrave (so fucking huge for a DLC)
Yeah this DLC is going to be the shit.
I’d still love a secret Godwyn boss but I’m glad he is not the focus of the DLC. Really digging Messmer.

i can see the Malenia level boss being the optional one and not required to beat the story.
The poison swamp shit is hilarious
the difficulty being around end game level makes sense. Seems like the character has already finished the game based off dialogue about the mother choosing the tarnished.
I'm sure Godwyn will be present somehow in an importnat way
