It's not about surpassing someone. Oda wrote this not for gags (I hope), he should do something with this. What's the better way for Wano's citizens to understand that Zoro is the new Ryuma? To make Zoro do something Ryuma did. How did Ryuma become so famous in Wano? He slayed a Dragon. I doubt Zoro will slay Kaido tho, but giving him a good cut would be enough, I think.

Enma connection runs very deep with kaido yet to see why only enma could fataly attack kaido . Kaido is potrayed as oni if that sword is not used on him then there is no point zoro to have the sword.

Ame no habakiri aka (tatsuka no taurugi) is the japanese mythological sword it was used to kill yamato no orochi.

Dunno who will wield Ame no habakiri maybe its Denjiro we know a scabbard will kill orochi. I am not sure how momo will yield it given he is just 8 years.
