Were they also a product of Del Bosque's system with Spain ?

Peak Xaviniesta were the core midfield of the greatest Spanish national team of all time (and one of the best overall in history), dominating the world from 2008-2012. Won a World cup and two Euros back to back.

Come on now :seriously:
Of course not, but Del Bosque's Spain squad was only an extension of the 2009-2012 Barca squad on almlst every position. And thus the playing styđe as well since the midfield trio was from Barca.

I feel like people here read my posts as trashing Xavi and Iniesta - which I'm not doing at all just to be clear - just saying that looking at their respective squads pound for pound Kroos and Modrić have better achievements than Xavi and Iniesta

Nah you're putting them on a pedestal now.

Modric and Kroos are way more consistent and didn't have prime Messi player half the time with them
:kayneshrug:

Similar with Zidane
Peak country player but can be overrated abit of the time when comparing club stats
I feel we only watch most of the legends through short highlights

Many of them don't have consistency and failed to perform when needed the most

Ronaldinho is the famous example

You guys speak as if RM is some poor rural club, when its the richest and best club in the world always stacked with top players including Messi's biggest rival Pendu
:suresure:

Regardless, it says a lot about the Portugal-France game how we cared more to discuss this than the game itself.

Lol nah man, Real had superstars in their team, especially during the Super Barca era. But they also had regulars in their defence like Lord Coentrao, Garay, their main attacking option being Chicharito for a few months, Jese Rodriguez playing winger with half a leg etc

That's cause Ronaldinho was an alcoholic and he used to party almost every night according to his team mates. But he was still above 99% of them just with his talent.
And he had about 2 years whe he was the best player in the world.
Then came Ronaldo and Messi.

Madrid players were always overrated
An example is Bellingham
What Kroos did, Messi did much better as a non-specialist ability
And Messi even became the best playmakear 5 times
No one cares about the number of trophies, otherwise do you believe Kroos is better than Pele and Maradona?
