General & Others Eustass Kidd

i think, currently Kidd is YC 1,5. Not YC1 yet, the portrayal of Katakuri with his FS cheat code is still stronger than Kidd imo. But once Wano is over i guess Kidd would be YC1+.

The bickering trio is merely a show-off for each of them, Oda deliberately made Law cocky to Luffy again just for that purpose, even though Luffy has already surpassed him in Dressrosa, and getting even 2 more haxxed powerups since. About Kidd, he may be a little bit stronger than Law if Law is YC3 or YC2

Why use Katakuri?
YC1 are not all equal nor near equals , they aren't a Power level rank like Yonko or Admiral where all 4 are near.

You can only compare commanders within the same crew.

Katakuri is special.

Kidd can 100% beat any commander who doesn't have FS.

the only person having performed in feats other than Katakuri who is YC1 (or similar to it) is Marco The Phoenix, just like how Kata has FS as his hax imo Marco's hax is his non-stop regeneration ability. He is also able to go fighting Kizaru without losing, and imo it's quite a big feat. So i place Marco and Kata in similar powerlevel.

as of Kidd, if i remember correctly he destroyed a few of BM's ships but which of BM commanders or crews present at the battle was vague.

Problem with Kidd was that Oda was doing nothing for him. He hear about him and when we see him, he's just getting beat up and vanishing for months.

There was also Oda's habit of making established characters Luffy's cheerleaders and giving Luffy power ups that would have fit other characters better(like FS for Sanji).

People, or at least myself, lost trust in Oda and had no expectations given his track record.

Kidd is like Bellamy's bitchy older sister and Luffy would never lose to that kinda guy but from the Sabaody fights with Pacifista I have to imagine he was stronger back then. The implication is also that Law could use Haki.

Now though, Kidd is confirmed to have CoC but we don't have an active use example. We haven't seen him use any really. Unless he put in some time the way Luffy did to develop useful CoA, I feel like all he can do is fling shit and that will get him by until he gets to maybe Queen level.

You guys are killing me:

- Kid encountered 3 Yonko's , Luffy so far 2.
- Kid lost his arm to the Red Hair pirates. Who knows where Luffy would have been if he were an anonymous pirate attacking Shanks
- Kid got destroyed by Kaido, same as Luffy.

The ONLY marked feat Luffy has over Kid is beating 2 of Big Mom's sweet commanders. The only thing we know Kid did at WCI was "take something precious from BM", likely the Road Poneglyph. Theres no record to say that Kid lost to a sweet commander. In fact, he actually INJURED ONE. Some people assume its Snack, and I can agree. Who knows though. Urogue beat Snack but was scared off by Cracker and the others

Come on guys, you ASSUME way too much against his character. Luffy vs. Law? Well yeah, Luffy is stronger, he defeated Doflamingo were Law couldnt.

You cant compare Kid right now, and if Oda wants to make Kid as strong as Luffy by the end of this arc, then be ready to be shocked I guess. The only way any of these silly arguments get validated here is if Kid gets "Doflamingo'ed" by Kaido and Luffy wins. Thats it.

The thing Luffy has over them is getting protected by Rayleigh, the best and most willing teacher possible, for two years. It allowed him to bridge a gap that he never would have by just sheer experience. It allows him to out Haki people who learned it way before he did. In your example it specifically had him leapfrog Law, who would have learned as a teen through Dofy's family. Rayleigh helped develop the active CoC use that impresses more people than the passive use. Remember he used it against Chinjao and the guy immediately asked who taught him to use it? Ray also helped develop Gear 4 and gave him the critical information that allowed him to start developing FS and advanced CoA. There's truly nothing right now to have us believe Kidd went through the same thing.

No, Luffy developed Gear 4 on his own. Rayleigh does not like it because it is too taxing on Luffy's body. He wanted Luffy to develop another way of fighting. Luffy's IQ dropped over the timeskip purposefully by Oda.

Uh... no. His fight IQ raised tremendously given that he learned about the Haki that enables him to survive. He also learned better defensive techniques like using his balloon to aim what he repels. The speculation is that he'll get much stronger at base form and he really already has... but no matter how strong his 100% gets his 150% will always be a stronger weapon. It only makes sense to use it.

When I mentioned Gear 4 it's the fact that Rayleigh was there to give him input instead of another technique that he had to workshop in mid battle. I don't remember Rayleigh talking bad about it, just questioning it, but it's not a bad idea. High risk high reward is the entire definition of Luffy's character and we've already seen that his king like ability to use allies compensates for that.

Oda messed up badly with Luffy, to the point of Oda regretting many decisions he has made.

Due to these bad decisions, One Piece will be remembered as the worst Shounen of the Big 3.

I'm working on explaining why this is the case.
