Thhe viz translation make it even more interesting about the ranking between the spriggans.
This is Makarov when he explain Zeref as emporer of Alvarez:
Makarov is calm but still see Zeref as big threat and the other spriggans, but when it come to August, Makarov even get scared and hype August very much in viz translation:
"None of the others even come close to his level of magic power".
"He may even outdo Zeref himself in that respect".
So what we get here, August is leagues above the other spriggans.
He may even be stronger then Zeref and the way how Makarov and the other react little show it off.
August stomp Jellan and his group, he beat Gildarts and Cana together and he only die duo plotarmor, otherwise August would kill anyone in Fiore, including Natsu and the others. August basically was a whole own lvl, a monster.
Without plotarmor he would destroy anyone, he even outclass Zeref in my opinion.
If we rank all 12spriggan+Zeref, how your guys ranking would look like?

Agree in this case, August was a monster/beast, literally anyone who face him get rekt hard.
Even Jellal and his troup get rekt hard and Jellal legit one shot Neinhart(another Spriggan).
August had enough skills and power to beat Gildarts and co, but Mashima didn´t know how he exactly could take him down so he use a suicide attack who could wipe out whole fiore based on him. In case he should let August take the w and face him off with Acnologia, together with Irene(no Erza bullshit win), Acnologia vs August+Irene could be actually a great battle to hype all three characters, better then handle Acno against Jellal+Pegasus....
Close to August and she was for me little above Zeref too(as you said his feats wheren´t really good), sadly she was take out by a bullshit plot, would be better to let Irene and August face Acnologia via using strong attacks.

Don´t really know, yes Larcade Orgasmus magic was op, but for someone didn´t had sex, they could avoid his power.
GodSerena and DiMaria are in my opinion above him, GodSerena stomp all Wizard Saints(at least the top 4) and get hyped by August.
Usually you are right but still I get the feeling that Dimaria and Godserena had the better feats.

You would need to nerf Zeref hardcore like take away his immortaly(that alone fucks up august) and Ankhseram curse.He just needs to use his deathcurses and calls it a day.
That curse is deadly even for the DG´s
