Character Discussion For the so called "World's Strongest Creature and Pirate" it seems like not that many cared about Kaido's defeat

Here is the reaction to Whitbeard's death.

Even Doffy's defeat somewhat had a bigger reaction as well.

But then we have Kaido's defeat who mind you was defeated alongside another Yonko Big Mom.

You would think two Yonko's being defeated, one of them being called "World's Strongest Creature and Pirate" would have had a bigger reaction but nope.

This is all we get.

Yeah that's cool and all but Oda failed to show us that.

Again for a man that some claim is number one in the verse, the world's strongest creature and also world's strongest pirate, his defeat/possible death didn't receive a bigger reaction like many thought it would.

Other than the Gorosei who were only angry for a little bit because of the whole power balance issue, it seems like not that many even cared that Kaido along with Big Mom were defeated.

What's shocking was Sabo overshadowed 2 Yonkou falling at the exact same time, it wasn't even close, Kaidou and Big Mom's defeats were an afterthought compared to The Flame Emperor's rise.

Garp should have had a reaction to the end of the two Rocks remnants at least. Same as Sengoku and Rayleigh.

in general Oda clearly doesn't care about Kaido and BM as much as other characters so it's not the biggest surprise

there's a lot of interesting characters in OP. but for some reason he focuses on scabbards, Rebecca, the 1000 Vegapunks that are totally necessary

Because he wasn't impactful in the actual world like Newgate. Kaido and Big Moms war wasn't televised for the world to see with weeks of in universe hype and fear like the paramount war.

Kaido literally did nothing but drink and build up an army of freaks in an isolated country. He also only had Wano under his control and Big Moms main territory is still "protected" by her kids so there's no ransacking like what happened to Whitebeards islands.

So basically, Kaido and Big Mom's defeat was a huge worldwide event as important characters such as Blackbeard stated and your only issue is that Oda didn't physically show it but rather just had characters say it, not quite the Kaido/Big Mom L you want it to be then is it? All you really proved here is that Oda's writing has deteriorated over the last decade or so from showing to telling.

I don't think having reactions across the world matters.

WB is different - he was the only who got parallel with Roger and also had allies all over the world. His strength was respected by the likes of Sengoku and Garp and even by other pirates.

In simple words, oda did Kaido dirty. His hype was twisted by oda to say "People say....or said to be". Oda did this deliberately to leave room for future powercreep. Two instances of his hype is either self proclaimed or came from his own right hand in the crew- King.


Oda used Kaido's hype of so called strongest as a tool to make Japan centric wano a big deal but ended up ruining not only wano but Kaido as well.

Anyways I think oda quickly wants to move to EOS introducing Imu and gorosei as final EOS villains. Also Kaido and BM shouldn't be compared to WB. Oda respects WB's image more and WB has a bigger impact comparatively.

Doffy is nothing but a small fish compared to Kaido for example.

---> they already acted in a way that could anger Kaido and not that they fear kaido will get angry if they do something.

Statement 2 - this may be better than the alternative. It's imperative that we snuff out something this problematic. This statement is followed by Venus talking about Gomu Gomu so we can deduce that the alternative Saturn talked about is Nika


----> Thus, elders believe taking out Nika is more important and they are ready to do so even if it enrage kaido.
