I believe Macron reacted the way he did after the death of Samuel Paty because of how frustrated people have become in France which is why we see the rise of the far-right like Marine Le Pen and Eric Zemmour. I've visited France a few times and I can tell you that the banlieue is a complete disaster.

I'd like to ask someone here who's from France about the situation there.

The far-right in France is not the same far-right that you can see in others european countries. French far-right is closer to radical right or simple national-populism. In France, the left is going so much in cancel culture or wokism that they see everything that is not like they think as far-right. The communist candidate Roussel said that every French people should have meat to eat and have acces to good food for a cheap price. There was some people to say he's a white supremacist.

Mélenchon was a left-wing sovereignist, he now wants every migrants to get the French nationality.There is a woman from his party who even said that "because of far-right in France, we can't reconciliate with terrorists".

That's pretty the same thing for others left-wing candidates, excepted Roussel who has more patriotic vibes.

This nonsense is pushing some French people to vote for far-right candidates. Not because they're the best. Because they're less worst.

My problem with Macron is that he's a globalist. He wants private companies everywhere. Selling French companies to foreign groups. I also want more security and it's clearly not it's priority.

I cannot vote due to an administrative problem, change of adress related, though to be honnest I'm not mad about it since none of the candidates attract me.
This is the biggest problem in current politics, you only get to make a choice between many bad options, it´s not any better here in Germany.

I´m no expert in french politics but looking through the candidate list I´d most likely have voted for Pecresse.

That's why we vote for a new President. To change the things.

Emmanuel Macron created a Minecraft server !

:okay:
:suresure::suresure::suresure::suresure:

That's creative, I'll give him that..

But- as a political campaign where voters are 18+(?), I don't believe this is like the target audience.

Unless of course, he's grooming the next generation into voting for him in the elections coming after
