Powers & Abilities Fujitora has the strongest observation haki in one piece

#1
so before WCI, everyone pretty much assumed that Fujitora had the strongest observation haki, as due to his blindness, he relies on it exclusively for cognition in battle.
However with the introduction of Katakuri, this assumption was thrown into question. If katakuri has FS, and Fujitora doesn't, then katakuri must have stronger observation, right?

Well, I don't think so.

First off, it is entirely plausible that Fujitora does indeed have FS. Oda could have just chosen not to reveal it at the moment so that katakuri would be more hyped whenever he appeared in the story. However Fuji's observation feats are extremely good, with Fujitora never taking a single attack he wasn't able to sense and block. Nobody could get a clean hit on him, the best Luffy did was overpower him with G3. With him being a gambler, it would fit his theme for him to be a FS user.

Just because it wasn't confirmed at that time doesn't mean Oda can't confirm it later on. Katakuri wasn't shown to be CoC user until much later in his fight with luffy. Sengoku was never shown to be a CoC user but rather was confirmed as one through the datebooks.

But lets just assume that he doesn't have it for now. Even if he doesn't have it, he is still most likely the strongest CoO user. the reason for this being that as an admiral, it is his duty to be able to match the yonko in terms of power. He is the WG's counter to the yonko. Hence, with him being blind, he needs to have strong CoO, more than any other character in OP, in order to compensate for his lack of vision. For Katakuri, CoO is just an ability, for Fujitora, it is an absolute necessity.

if his CoO runs out, he will die, instantly. At that point he will be just another blind man. hence he needs CoO capable of lasting long multi-day fights to keep up with other top tiers. At the very least, his CoO stamina should be above any other character as he's practically using it constantly.

the thing about FS is that FS is just one ability. it is a very high level CoO ability, but is just one ability out of many. While Fuji's status as a FS user is unknown, he has without a doubt shown one of the best CoO ranges we have ever seen. Take his rubble feat for example. Gravity isn't like magnetism where Fujitora can just grab all the rubble without having to think about the people. In order to pull that feat off, Fujitora would have needed to sense all the people on dressrosa, sense all the rubble in dressrosa, and selectively apply his powers to the rubble while not applying it to the people.

This means he most likely has island level CoO range. But I think his range could even go beyond that. With his meteorite attack, he sends a gravity slash up into the air, causing a meteorite to fall. Now nothing is certain, but, he would need to have been able to sense the meteorite in order for him to aim his gravity in such a way that it pulls it down. Could Fuji's CoO then possibly allow him to sense objects in space? It could just be that he sends out these slashes randomly, however it is still a very real possibility that his CoO could be that powerful.

in any case, I think fujitora has the strongest observation haki in one piece, regardless of whether or not he has FS. He has shown one of the best CoO ranges in the series. this along with the fact that he is a top tier who relies on CoO for cognition due to his blindness, leads me to believe his CoO is the strongest. In fact, I think his CoO is more overpowered than FS, as strange as that might seem.

It is confirmed that his DF attacks have island level range and possibly even interplanetary range(due to the meteorite). This combined with island level+ CoO range allows him to essentially act as the world's greatest sniper. He could launch devastating attacks on people while not even being in the same city as them. He could possibly be able to do this without even being in the same island as them.

The potential for this is insane. he could essentially call in an air strike, being able to target someone from miles away with his CoO and then bring down a meteor shower on them.

While I think that future sight is better than non-FS CoO, I would place Fujitora's CoO as best non-FS CoO in the verse.
It is probably so good that not even a FS user could have an edge over him.

Course he is. Man's a top tier while being blind. Nobody's topping that. FS isn't a Katakuri speciality, he's just the one who Oda used to explain it. There's no way that the strongest CoO user is a mere Yonko commander that Luffy beat at least three arcs before the end of series.

Probably, with Mihawk being second and Kata third.
That is not how it works..

FS sees few seconds into the future.....that means "time"
Strong observation haki covers range.......that means "space".....

so it is possible that Fujitora has strong CoO that can cover long range while he may not see the future like Katakuri while Katakuri can see few seconds ahead but can't have the range like Fujitora has...

Range doesn’t matter in 1v1 fight

What about Enel? His CoO cover whole Skypea and can attack accurately from far away.
Woah this is actually a good point. Enel's range was only so large thanks to his DF, that allowed him to sense electrical particles in the air. It greatly increased the range of his COO. Maybe Fuji can sense anything that has weight and extended it further than Enel.

Mihawk is a good contender.

I feel like the "Hawkeye" denomination wasn't casual at all after all.
I think Hawkeye CoO is more like rayleigh. So not so much about FS or seeing aura and emotions but more to detect the presence of an enemy, the number, of enemies, how strong they are, and where they are. And with the basic prediction thing.

It goes well with swordsmanship.

I'm not sure. Maybe Oda will reveal us more of Mihawk's power. And I want to understand why IM sama's eyes are the exact same. :kayneshrug:

I would think that due to his epithet of Hawkeyes, his CoO allows him to:
  • Have a bird's eye view. He can spot and track his target from long range just like how a hawk can
He was able to track Luffy, his target in a sea of people during MF from long range

  • He also has the ability to detect, identify the strength of people,
He said a strong swordsman can identify the strength of another swordsman without fighting

  • Probably see the future.
We will have to waait for this one

I don't believe Fujitora has the best observation haki
I believe that Fujitora is the best in ONE SHADE of observation haki

Meaning... Observation has many shades:
1- sense the aura (which makes you sense where people are/ how strong the person is/ how many people are there) also there is a RANGE, meaning every person has a certain range.. (This is so good in strategic battle)

2- There is the ability to sense emotions... Something Luffy excelled at during his time with Rayleigh... and also I think Koby during Marineford excelled even more at this by READING THE THOUGHTS of someone, which is more than just emotions of Joy/Sadness/Anger/...etc Which Fujitora used when he saw the citizens of Wano... you may think I'm stupid to say this... but Fujitora was ONLY ABLE to sense a little bit of emotions, meaning he sensed no anger from the citizens who were going after Luffy... HOWEVER, he NEVER was able to read their thoughts...

Now you may try to attack me by saying "are you saying Koby's observation is better than Fuji?" NOOO, I'm just saying that Koby during Marineford... he expressed a HIGHER level in that shade... but he still has to train and control it... and even more... he's weak in other shades... which makes im obviously inferior user than Fujitora

3- The ability to predict attacks... this shade have COUNTLESS PEOPLE... Luffy right after timeskip showed it to Hody's attacks... COUNTLESS people use that in the story... however ONLY SELECT FEW went beyond it... and started to not only predict a little bit of future movement... rather they started to "SEE THE FUTURE ITSELF" in a decent duration. (Katakuri and now Luffy)

So... what I'm saying is... Fujitora might be the best in ONE or TWO Shades at best... but he's not a master of ALL SHADES....

I don't think he's the strongest CoO user in general, but for one specific type, he is. Likewise to CoA, imo CoO has different branches that a user can choose to focus on. With advanced CoA, a person can choose to go into the swordsmanship branch and obtain the black blade or go into the brawler category and have penetration haki(I also believe there's a 3rd branch which is full-body haki). They of course could have both and be well-rounded, or choose one to become a master in that specific category.

I find this to be the same thing for CoO. The branches right now being awareness and precognition. Fujitora could certainly be strong in both areas which would make sense but I believe that he focused a lot more on awareness than precognition. It fits more for a blind man and his feat of detecting a passing meteor in outer space is the best showing of awareness we've seen so far. The casual way he did it too just shows his level of mastery with awareness.
