General & Others Garp's statement about Yonkou being most powerful pirates

#41
Whitebeard was called The Strongest Man Alive and Kaido is The Strongest Creature. They have the biggest revealed bounties and there are the strongest in their crews. One might assume, that, there are the strongest pirates. That includes Supernova and Shichibukai. Mihawk somehow got god tier level from fandom, even though he wanted to gauge the difference in strength between him and WB in Marineford, admitting that he is weaker.
Some of you never cease to amaze me, not really.

Kaido title, WSM, it's not an actual title. It's based off of rumors yet some of your guys love to claim he's the strongest. Oda even had Zoro mocking his rumored title.

Mihawk title, WSS, is an actual title Oda created yet you claim it was one created by a fandom.

:okay:

Actually WSC is not featured in the vivrecard unlike WSS, so it's the other way around. WSC could be a non-confirmed title, but not WSS which is very legit. Furthermore, even a WSM can be WSS if a swordsman, and viceversa also applies if the swordsman is potent enough to be WSM.

and who is handing those out? the world commitee of swordsmanship?
when was the last contest held to confirm that WB was still the current reigning WSM?!? who is now, after WB died? the one who struck the final blow?

all titles are hollow until they have proven themselves. be it hearsay or in intro boxes. they are all the same.
heck, we even saw what kind of a wash PK actually is. its not about power at all.

Yonko are said to be the strongest pirates. leave it at that.
if you downplay their individual power you are downplaying every other character alongside with it. Marines, Shichibukai, everyone. because they could not beat them.
so its no use to downplay them and rather accept what the manga said at face value. until proven otherwise.

Bunch of Cap, big mom doesn't rely on her sword alone
Shanks ok, but from what I seen from every video game he also carries a gun
and you shouldn't go off that, does that make mihawk stronger than wb since he carried a sword?
Bunch of facts. Good luck with your hands vs sword lol or the two elemental retarded hommies, lol.
Good luck with gun against sword.
Whitebeard never carried a sword. Or you dont know how swords look like?

This is one piece, you really think this can't happen, Ben pointed a gun at kizaru
Blackbeard carries 3 flintlocks and used it on the WSM
Izo legit shot bullet at the supposedly "WSC"

Portrayal shouldn't bother you because it goes from 0 to 100 in not one chapter but in a single panel.
Example: Zoro is bothering with trash on the live floor in one chapter, in the next chapter he is facing the number one of the verse.
Mihawk is clean, no swordsman can be put above him and his time is coming when Zoro is at his strongest.

Exactly, the Shichibukais didnt bother to move a finger for the Marines even tho the war started by Mihawk attacking Whitebeard...
I think the title is as accurately stated that he is above them as it gets... Oda cannot state it more clearly...
What people confuse with individual power levels is the presence of a loner and commander of a large army display.
Like I said I'm gonna wait and see.
I'm not jumping the gun on this.

How do we read the kanji/japanese?
Learn Japanese.

meanwhile two of the Yonkou members are the strongest beings on the planet, WSM and WSC. The other member are the Kaidou-clone in powerlevel hype (BM, Beast Pirates said there are two Kaidous). They have the strength that significantly eclipse anyone from their crews and empire.
There's only one Yonko with an official title, and that was WB. The guy that was always portrayed above the other Yonko.

Considering these absolute strength-related titles held by at least these two members, its almost like the ones who supports this "greatest only refers to political power as opposed to primarily individual powerlevel" notion don't want powerlevel to become the primary source of this title.
So if the greatest term on that title is based on powerlevel, then the top individual strength (WSM/WSC level) is the primary requirement. That was what BB was doing, claiming WB's fruit transform him into an ultimate being like he himself said. The primary requirement, no one has the capability to reach that level of strength aside from WSM and WSC.
Again, WB is the one with the official title. But I quoted this to show something.
If you believe that individual strength is the main thing needed, and strength on par with WB and Kaido, then explain how and why are there multiple candidates for the Emperor position with Teach being the frontrunner.
Why wasn't Teach immediately called an Emperor then? What are the rest of the candidates missing? Are they all as strong as Kaido and WB and weaker than MF Teach? Is MF Teach as strong as Kaido and WB and weaker than Shanks and Sakazuki since he ran away from them? Are there a plethora of Kaido and WB leveled people running around the world?? If your answer is yes, lmao, then why aren't they emperors??

"the ruling part support that the title is about political power" is also only an interpretation of two parts of a sentence, not an actual confirmation from the author/manga team, right?

On the other hand, the "ruling the latter half" can always be considered the addition, since it was mentioned later than the "powerful/great" part.
Why are you asking me stupid questions? The four great pirates, with kanji denoting political influence and power, that rule like emperors do. When you hear the word emperor do you think
> This guy is the strongest of all people in the world?
or
> This guy is a ruler?
Is the Japanese emperor the strongest guy in the world?

No one is saying that Yonko are frauds or anything, but they are the 4 greatest pirates in terms of ruling and owning territories, like an emperor does. They are immensely strong, but not the 4 strongest.

So if the greatest term on that title is based on powerlevel
If you wanna go there, let's examine the manga and what it showed concerning powerlevel. We had 2 new Yonko, with one being a fake Yonko, but still regarded a Yonko. And we saw how they became a Yonko.

In regards to individual strength:
> One beat Marco, a YC1 of the Whitebeard Pirates.
> The other beat Katakuri, a YC1 of the Meme Pirates.

What does that tell you? Seems like the level of Yonko goes from people stronger than Katakuri/Marco to Kaido, which is a huge gap. So to be a Yonko you have to be marginally stronger than Katakuri/Marco, right??

How do we read the word? Is it "Dai"? Meaning great/strong? How do you think this relate to powerlevel?

Garp referring to the Yonko as "Daikaizoku"

Daikaizoku is Great Pirate. Here's the Japanese text for it 大海賊.

And then you got this 最強の海賊 which means Saikyō no Kaizoku aka "The Strongest Pirate".

Whitebeard's title is "The Strongest Man in the World". 世界最強の男 or Sekai Saikyō no Otoko.

According to Greg or Stephen Paul (can't remember which one), the kanji for strongest and greatest are the same. As for power level, I won't put titles as some kind of feats for that characters.
