The problem is, that this is most likely not his actual final form. Awakened dragon-devil form incoming, mate.
The visuals for awakened DF users are completely different to hybrid modes and that's definitely no coincidence.
Besides the fact that "heightened regen/resilience" is jackshit anyway compared to any other DF category's awakening
Someone like Lucci would be doomed if that would be all there is. Solely based on one's DF power he could not even compete with any ancient Zoan.
Shit + extra resilience = just more resilient shit..

Imo that will introduce us to the real WSC and it's the thing that will finally trump BM's all out performance later on.

And it is imo what will require Luffy to grow tremendously outside his DF capabilities.
Cause I also think advCoA KKG moves might be able to take care of hybrid Kaido, but awakening tho..
Imo the all-out Kaido matter won't be solved by higher punching power. I think he will enter the route of becoming a Roger-like haki God this Arc.
His DF imo will become more of supporting tool, that gives him the little extra, not staying his main muscle anymore.

Luffy still needs more stamina. A lot more of it. He trained really hard in prison but that wasnt enough for Kaido. Honestly if he gets an awakening it would help a lot but hes still nowhere close to the likes of a Yonko.

I’d see G5 before awakening. However, It would be interesting to see Luffy some how stack those gears (similarly to how Moriah was the only enemy pre timeskip Luffy has to stack Gear 2 and Gear 3)

How would you explain that all of them have a distinct feature in common though?
All of them have black claws/fingers. Besides them being massive, unproportional powerful, with no humanoid features at all, whether we are talking about bodystructure or facial features, solely their waists and their posture points to them originally being humans.

No, Zoan's awakenings only boost their toughness and recovery speed. Nothing about appearances and facial features changing.

That's the crux with it. They are already in those forms, we can see it. Croc's comment could also just indicate that their additional strong point is their toughness- "next to those monstrous forms, that look nowhere like hybrids, that you can see right there".
Those things aren't mutually exclusive.
And again, just compare their physical appearances to hybrid modes. Everything about them is completely different. And like I said they even got a signature feature in common- black claws/fingers.
