Yeah everyone knew Kanki wasn’t going to get folded but I think a lot of people are jumping the gun here.
I don't think it's jumping the gun here. But no matter how good Riboku is, Kanki is still 6GG who has the capability destroy Zhao army in Riboku’s presence and later escape with his core. He's not someone like Ouki who stays in battlefield even after knowing the outcome or like Gekishin who's overconfident of his capabilities.

This is the same Riboku who, after Ousen and Makou had hit Kisui’s army so hard that Qin forces were thinking that the Qin had just won the left, turned around and assassinated Makou which completely invalidated all of Qin’s gains and now had the Zhao in the winning seat, in just one move. Lol
No how good his entrance and everything he did in killing Makou was, he couldn't achieve anything later in that battlefield.

But as a whole picture, he lost pretty badly at the hands of Ousen. Lost pretty big part of Zhou's area. Lost many of his Generals. Lost his biggest weapon, Houken.

Now who's Ousen ? The same general who is underestimated like usually he did with everyone, and also the same man he mentioned when he challenged Qin King in capital after losing Kokuyou hills.

He also underestimated Kanki there as well in capital. Let's see how he handles everything here. He had showed his move twice but Kanki has made his first move and it has just started. Lol

So no matter how you see it, people aren't jumping the gun here. Riboku might win this but Kanki will surely make Zhou lose too many heads before that.

Kanki will flex but Riboku is the one to fear right now and always.
Definitely to take Riboku seriously but not to fear. Not always. He is not invincible. He has lost a few times before already. In his home as well. With advantages at his own side always.

Most interesting thing is at center after losing a few bouts against Ousen in the beginning, Ousen came right in front of him to recruit Riboku in his own faction. That shows how confident Ousen was with everything and how fearful he is of Riboku. More importantly how he treats Riboku. Lol

Chapter 626 (or 622?) baby, where Ousen himself states that Riboku would have defeated him if not for Shin, Mouten, and Ouhon lol.

Y’all really need to stop overestimating Ousen lol. Ousen is really lucky he had the new Qin trio helping him at Shukai or Riboku would have bodied him.

1: Riboku kills Makou therefore Ousen loses the battle and gets low diffed on the first day if not for Mouten
2: breaks Akou's formation and would have killed him and resulted in Ousen losing again if not for Akakin and others saving his ass
3: comes up with a plan to kill Ouhon and nearly succeded and would have won the battle again if not for his men fighting to the last breath to save him
4: after Ousen's only plan which was a pincer succeeds after 15 days it took Riboku 15 minutes to counter it with Banaji and Futei and put Ousen in a worse situation that would have killed him if not for Mouten and Ouhon
Riboku beat Ousen 4 times in one battle
The only one that was a disappointment in that battle was Ousen
And if that wasn't enough he found out Ousen's plan to get food while SHK couldn't think of any plans while having more information and thinking about it for a year
If not for the pedo king he cuts off their road and Ousen starves
Nobody got more W's in one war than RBK got in shukai plains but for some reason people like to pretend he is Ousen's inferior and not actually his daddy

Question completely irrelevant to the discussion, say soldiers are trying to slay a martial top tier.

1. What's the number needed to achieve so if the soldiers are elites?

2. What is the number needed if the soldiers are average?

Just want to hear your view.

@MarineHQ62 @Fleet Admiral Lee Hung @Owl Ki
I wanted to do a thread about it today lol
Let's say 30% are cavalry, 20% archers and the rest infantry
Average and elite soldiers

Riboku simply cannot lose here, his legacy in this series might be on the line.

As in, his legacy as a winner. He'll always be at the top General wise but he simply hasn't won an encounter in 400+ chapters. This is his best chance yet in a direct battle, and history-wise, sorry, but RBK is nowhere near to being defeated. Zhao has to win this to make this encounter make any sense given what we know for the future.

Then again Hara is a genius who keeps proving me wrong so...

LMAO , there's once again "IF" . All of the Riboku’s loses are based on "Ifs". Lol

Shin, MouTen and OuHon all three are highly recommended and treated as key figures for the campaign whether it was by EiSei, SHK or OuSen.

Baby forget about all the "Ifs". They are part of Qin army, trusted by king, had followed there generals plan but just as usual underestimated by Riboku at crucial beginning advantage (after taking out Makou).

Ousen and EiSei trusted the three and they delivered the results for there King and Commander.

It's you all overestimating Riboku again and again even after him getting lost again and again. Even after him getting saved by Houken's a few time. He's not that good as you all believed.

Now I'll mention one best "If", if not for Houken, Riboku would've dead before becoming famous and dead at the hand of GekiShin. Duke is also a great option for IF, as he breaks down Riboku’s greatest formation and would have slayed Riboku as well "If" not for Houken stopping his charge or slaying him.

Ousen and Riboku made exactly similar battle plan right from the beginning and targeted the pieces in same field at the same time.

It's just whom one trusted to take action and how those pieces played for there commander. Both came with there best (even though Riboku side had better and more generals whether with martial prowess or strategical capabilities) but it was Riboku who lost.

Riboku and Ousen both relied on either of the wings to commence the attack on center. And Qin got the advantage there while later defeated Riboku again and again in center.

In the end only thing that matters is who won and than who was the commander of the winning and losing side. It isn't the fault of Ousen if Riboku's generals couldn't deliver of if he was incapable of getting the results out of his Generals.

Everything you mentioned is undeniable but the biggest problem here is only one thing. Riboku couldn't utilize his initial advantage further properly and as always he got beaten due to his overconfidence and not taking correct decision at right time.

Even now Kanki is making fun of him and got the chance to counter attack on him even when he could just wiped out Qin quite easily from the beginning with all those advantages.

You allare overestimating Riboku just too much. "If" not for Houken's aid, he would be dead long ago. At Shukai plains, again "If" not for Houken, Shin and Sou'Ou had flanked his HQ and might have killed him. Lol

Tell it to Ousen, I am quoting him directly lol. He outright said Riboku would’ve beaten him if not for the new trio.

No proof for either of these lol, you just made both of these up as I explained above.

Look carefully here bro :

Ousen said both are similar with tactics both were around same level. Not that Ousen was losing or anything else.

Now see young trio definitely made difference here but alright remove them from here and put somewhere else than at options for Ousen, there's only Kanki army left which was at Gyou or the generals with there army at Ousen's HQ.

If it was Denrimi or Sou'ou (while keeping Shin and Ouhon at HQ) there along with Akou right from the very beginning than do you believe it would be different result ? All three are from Ousen's main army and been together for long time, they would definitely be quite lethal against Zhou whole wing. They had the caliber to achieve this result as well.

Zhao also had there own young as well as extra capable old generation there, even with all them Riboku couldn't achieve win isn't Ousen's fault. Both of them used similar tactics but in the end it is Ousen's victory.

Also it's not like Riboku didn't knew about any of the three from the young trio, there styles or capabilities but still couldn't plan a good counter. That's his deficiency. Even after all the support he gave them (giving right wing continuous strategical plans), lost.

No proof for either of these lol,
Manga portrayal is enough. Gekishin was right at the head of Riboku (only a few meters of distance) with a very few soldiers around Riboku. Riboku was in stationary position, so even if Riboku wants to run, he couldn't escape from the clutches of Gekishin. Simple.

Perhaps Hara follows the logic that it would take two great heavens threats to take out a 6GG eith a decently big/strong enough army, it will be the same again solidifying Kanki as one. He aint in that spot just for show, so SBS + Riboku are needed to beat him.

Or SBS gets introduced in the final Zhao battle but wont get defeated, therefore that first theory of mine gets nulled.

Qin:
The Qin soldiers complain that they cannot keep holding back the enemy and that Kanki's not doing anything to send them reinforcements, but the general of the northern Qin army says to hold on and that there is meaning in their struggle if Kanki is able to get away. The soldier replies saying it doesn't seem like Kanki is moving and has just given up. As he says this they see movement at Kanki's HQ and the general says there's no way Kanki would give up because he's one of the honorable Qin Great Six.

Heki looks back at the movement in the Kanki army and notices they took up a formation but can't figure out what it is. Because of the sudden movement a lot of the focus on the Heki army let up and one of his soldiers says they should use this opportunity to retreat and Heki agrees.

The narration goes on to say that everyone, including the ones in the Kanki army and Riboku who watched from above, were left in a state of confusion. As Riboku's soldiers try to guess what the formation is Riboku chimes in saying even he has no idea what that formation is. However, he deduces that Kanki probably didn't learn this from someone else and has instead come up with it on his own through his own way of thinking.

Zhao:
Some of the Zhao units look on and one soldier says Kanki is right in front of them so they should start the attack. However, his captain says to hold on because Riboku told them that when Kanki's army moves suspiciously there most likely lies danger ahead and that if they make any big moves they will have the tables turned on them instead. He decides they will wait for orders from Riboku before they make any moves and that they'll be ready whenever orders come to them.

Riboku thinks about it for a bit then says he understands. He sees the formation as simply a bluff from Kanki and that there is no deeper meaning to the formation. To understand it, if they were to attack the center then the legs of the formation would attack their force from both sides, however, if they take out the legs from the ends first then the formation loses it's advantage and is simply taken care of. That is why after 500 years of formations being strategized and created this one does not exist because it lacks proper usability. He says that if there's anything to praise about that formation it's that it sowed a lot of confusion on their side. He then says there's no need to worry and that they will simply attack from the 4 legs at once.

As the Zhao attack the Kanki soldiers are struggling as they are attacked from all sides at each leg. Riboku thinks to himself what Kanki will do now because as time goes by he will lose more troops and any chances he might have will be gone and it'll be easy to take his neck.

Qin:
Marron sees this and is freaking out because each leg is being taken out. Kanki tells Marron to send out Kokuou and she heads out with her unit. Riboku's soldiers sees this and the ones at the legs prepare to defend the ones engaged in battle. Kokuou then tells her soldiers to stop and the Zhao, as well as Kanki's soldiers, all get ready for their next move. Kanki chuckles then tells Marron it's enough and to tell Kokuou to come back. Marron is confused and Kanki says next is Ringyoku to which Marron is even more confused. Ringyoku goes out then Kanki tells him to come back and next is the Zuuma who also goes out and comes back in.

The Zhao are pissed and is thinking Kanki's just messing around with them. Marron also gets flustered and asks Kanki to tell him what he's doing because if they keep doing nonsense moves like this...Kanki asks what Marron thinks will happen. When Marron seems confused Kanki asks him again what he thinks will happen like this and Marron seems to understand something. As Riboku looks on he notices the sun's position and thinks to himself "is it...?" Kanki says that they were being all loud saying he's not doing anything but he's been doing something all along. He's been using the "wasted time."

I don't know about you but I am trusting Turnip Farmers' translation over somebody that translates Ousen talking about the three 5000 commanders as "We three young cards".

Yeah Riboku is right, this is gonna be another one of those unorthodox strategies deployed by Kanki, he was just bluffing with this formation and wasting time for the night, this might turn into Kanki's favor while in that time.

Funnily enough, this formation of Kanki's doesn't actually prove that Riboku is wrong about Kanki's weakness since that formation was never designed to win a field battle but just distract Riboku long enough for Kanki to buy time for darkness to come.

I got it from readkingdom. Mangasee isn't working here. Still i remember such dialogues through TKC but still going through those panels, Riboku got advantage with the removal of Akou and Makou. That's all. He's superior due to just this advantage and its not like Riboku is above Ousen or blahblahblah. Now even if Shin and OuHon won't succeed in handling situation, Ousen could have call them back and send someone else. Shin and OuHon showed there capabilities that's why Ousen didn't got to interfere. Later removed Zhou's two pillars.

Shin and OuHon both or one of them could even got back to HQ and later someone else could take their positions. But that didn't needed.

Now in all this situation or translation, where Ousen admitted his inferiority to Ousen as commander/strategist or he would directly have lost. Trio's capabilities saved lot of troubles and shuffling in army positions. Just as Zhou generals/young men or pawns have there role, Qin's trio or pawns played there role.

Stop overestimating Riboku. He lost to Ousen right at every point or battle right from the very beginning that is Retsubi.

Riboku was just a new recruitment pawn for Ousen and you still believe Ousen saying or admitting he was "inferior" !? Lol

@Fleet Admiral Lee Hung not even feckin Ousen himself flat out stating that Riboku was superior in the battle is enough for some folk.

Riboku was 100% responsible for killing Makou and was the brains behind dealing with Akou since nobody on the Zhao left wing had any idea how to deal with the Shells Formation.

What did Ousen directly contribute towards dealing with CGR and Gyou'un? Nothing. He threw Ouhon and Shin at the problem and had them deal with it.

Ousen was also completely blindsided by Bananji (who was sent out by Riboku) and had no counter to him. Ouhon and Mouten saved his bacon there on their own initiative.

He could replace them with someone else? With who? Makou was dead, Akou was already there or incapacitated, Denrimi wouldn't last a day and Sou'ou is all brawn.

What Ousen beat Riboku at was the grand campaign strategy (the refugees, burning the food stores and Qi resupply) but it was Riboku who had Ousen outmatched during the actual Battle of Shukai Plains with Shin/Mouten/Ouhon filling in the gaps in Ousen's battle strategy whenever Riboku made a hole in them.
