Chapter summary thanks to jeeswag and the TKC :

Sekirei:
The Qin are organizing their forces to prepare to defend Sekirei. Kanki's soldiers gather their families and report to Heki to use as he wishes despite their small numbers. Heki tells them that the most important part of a castle defense is their mindset. They must adopt the mindset of never giving up. Even if the Zhao climb the ladders do not be disheartened and push them off after they climb up. They must continue fighting no matter what. Kanki's soldiers mock each other saying they were the first ones to run here and there, but this time there is no where to run and Heki says there really is nowhere to run and the fate of Qin lies with them. Kanki's soldiers say they never felt loyal to Qin and are only loyal to themselves and the boss. Heki says that's fine as long as they continue fighting until Kanki hears of this and comes to Sekirei himself. Everyone gets roused and prepares to set up to defend Sekirei.

Some other northern Qin soldiers stand amazed at Heki's leadership despite their general being out of action. They say it's a relief that general Heki came to them and decide it's time for them to get to position too. As they say this one of them throws up to which the Kanki soldiers mocks him for throwing up because he's scared. The soldiers call out to their 300man captain and the man falls over dead. Others begin to say that their stomachs are starting to hurt and begins throwing up. All around the walls the Qin begin to fall one by one and Heki receives a report saying all the Qin are dying around the walls. They realize that the ones who are falling are those who entered the castle before them. A soldier tells Heki that this amount of soldiers dying could only mean one thing and Heki says without a doubt that it's poison.

Heki thinks that if it was the water then those who entered after the fallen will soon begin to feel it and he throws up after he says that. Heki thinks to himself that they were all roused and ready to defend the castle but to die this way makes no sense. The elders of Zhao walk toward Heki and he questions them asking if they were the ones who did it. The chief elder says it's as he says. Heki asks when theyhad the chance to poison them when they didn't have the Zhao do anything. The elder says it was the well water and that they had devices ready to poison the well water at any moment. Heki asks when they even did that and the elder says it was before the Qin set their sights on Gian and approached Sekirei.

The elder continues saying the residents of Sekirei didn't escape and left by order of Riboku. They were told to give Sekirei to Qin without anyone getting harmed and create a spot for the escaped Qin to go to in order to poison them all in one spot. Heki begins to curse Riboku and asks how they could poison their own water to this extent because of how long it'll take to remove it all for this place to be habitable. The elder responds saying when they heard of Kanki killing 100,000 even those of the northern lands felt the rage and as a Zhao resident they will not forgive them. They swore that if Kanki were to approach them they would use any means necessary to pay him back even if it meant putting poison in the waters that helped them all grow in this castle. All in the name of killing Kanki and the cursed Qin.

At Sekirei, despite the Qin flag being raised there are dead Qin soldiers everywhere. The Zhao soldiers enter asking if it's over and the elder says yes. The soldier tells him they made a harsh decision and thanks to this choice they have Kanki cornered. Some Qin soldiers make noise and they realize some of them are still alive. The elder says it's those who drank less water than the rest as they didn't have enough to get them to the point of death. One soldier says they should go around killing them but the captain says to leave them so they can put them to work in the north later and keep working them until they die.

Riboku's HQ:
Riboku receives a report saying the Qin who took Sekirei were wiped out. Futei tells Kaine that the one who came up with the idea was SSJ but the one who ordered it was Riboku. Kaine tells him to shut up because she already knows. Riboku says there's no need to worry about Sekirei anymore and that all that's left is to take out Kanki. He orders all forces to head towards Gian.

No break next week!

Kanki won Gian but will lose in other city I guess...this war is dragged a lot..hope that it will finish soon
Shin won Gian.

Kan Ki knowingly and willing triggered Ri Boku's trap, got his army destroyed for his troubles and lost about 130,000 men in a day.

Whatever Kan Ki does this arc, it better be big. Right now, he's not done much besides drawing Zhao attention away from the HSA and GKA - which wasn't a choice, but there's still some credit due.

Heki is such a liability man 💀
This is the best Heki has looked in years.

The only liability in the arc thus far is Kan Ki himself. The guy that willingly sprung his enemy’s trap, got BTFO’d and then hightailed it out of there.

Not the guy who managed to survive in the VANGUARD, organised the retreat of all those left behind by their Great General, and made it back to Sekirei.

Each is an achievement on its own.

I'm talking about this upcoming chapter specifically.

No doubt Kanki is the biggest liability (he is in most of the wars, with his recklessness). But this new L for Heki does not help this already losing battle for the Qinians.

Plus the way things are going he's about to lose Sekirei.

What L? Victory is surviving, it has been since Ri Boku’s cage fell on them.

They were tired, haggard and beaten. They had barely made it to Sekirei when they got poisoned.

There is no basis for making this out to be a product of Heki’s failure. The guy has been playing against impossible odds.
