Kan Ki not including Shin there makes perfect sense.

They already have Ri Boku where they want him, and under these circumstances, relatively speaking, he's not a particularly strong fighter. Kan Ki , Zenou and Shu Ma should be more than enough to get the job done and they have experience working together.

Considering time is of the essence, the best use of the Qin's strongest fighters is holding back Zhao reinforcements away from him long enough and securing viable escape routes.

I mean, yeah, that is typically the response when the language of Hara's foreshadowing and dialogue doesn't actually match up with what is shown.

Which is a point I raise her constantly.

What makes Hara seemingly uniquely good at whipping up hype and tension so easily and so quickly is a combination of a) absolute commitment to pace without compromise (very few part of Kingdom drag), and b) hyperbole and exaggeration.

Love it or hate - and I happen to love it - it's a style that works really well for the story he's trying to tell, which is a highly fictionalised and abridged retelling of the unification of China that would probably take 1000s of chapters to adequately cover.

Of course it's not without its drawbacks, which often occur when the content of chapters don't match what the reader is told to believe or led to anticipate.

How can you say kanki has harassed riboku all arc? Riboku played the hell out of qin from day 1 and has ravaged Qin at every turn. Kanki has lost 90% of his army. He had Gian only because Shin performed a top tier, Duke level moment and escaped. Otherwise it would have been an utter massacre.

Basically Riboku with hundreds of thousands troops can't even get close to Kanki or even made him loose his cool or made Kanki felt like he's been dancing on Riboku's flute but Kanki with just one move got his men near to Riboku's throat and make Riboku dancing on his tunes for full two or three days (I'm forgetting the timeline here, so it's not accurate. sorry).

Lastly Kanki isn't someone who cares about numbers or how many he lost. His tricks or movements are all for just achieving the end goals even by sacrificing all for that. Or if loosing all just as bait to catch his opponent. Lol

-Hakuki was too old, vassals likely out of commission if not brutally executed for their war crimes
-Oukutsu was a brute strength type general like Gaimou, not expecting much here
-We already have SHK for Koshou

Shin waiting to fight the reinforcements instead of helping Kanki killing Riboku's squad is a good choice by the author.
1. Now that we know Riboku is just so so fighting wise, it makes even more sense that Kanki's army is still enough to wipe Riboku's squad. Currently nobody in Riboku's squad should be able to stop Zenou. While Shin can guard the exit to prevent Riboku escaping and prevent the likes of Bananji, SSJ and 4 Seika Generals coming in.
2. Symbolically the author doesn't want to make Kanki and Shin directly cooperating. Either because Shin always disagrees with Kanki's method or it is foreshadowing for future Kanki's plot.
