No matter what, Riboku has survived three waves of attacks till now and that's fabulous considering he ain't a strategist with brute strength like Ouki Renpa or Tou.
Whether say it plot (real history) coz Riboku can't die here or Kanki's idiocy (exactly this) to not use HSU's elites led by Shin coz we all know none in the current alive could match them in strength. Zenou alone can't match the strength and capabilities of HSU core.
So they both had matched in idiocy for now. Riboku had the best opportunity to eliminate Kanki before and Kanki similarly has the best opportunity now but both failed. Lol

Yeah, looks like Riboku was about as strong as most thought he would be before people (including myself) started referencing Hara’s one shot where Riboku was hiding an Ouki Tier physique under those robes lol.
Overall, he’s about Ringyoku/Shuma tier in strength it seems. Which means he is very strong but probably not stronger than any other competent martial General out there. So comparing him to Shukai Plains generals…Gaku Ei level? Reminder that Gaku Ei was quite a capable warrior, he got one shot because Shin developed into a true monster by Shukai Plains, and because Gaku Ei was rage-lusted when they fought.

Yeah GakuEi was good and might be slightly above Riboku but i believe on normal day Riboku should definitely be better than Ringyoku. While i don't remember much about Shuma. Lol
Pre Shukai plains, Shin's strength already was on the level to one shot Riboku though just like you said, Hara won't be showing it that way.

I wouldn't say that Kanki is an idiot for not specifically using the HSU to kill Riboku when he had them posted at one of the three routes that Riboku could have taken. All three routes needed to be covered by somebody and Riboku just so happened to go by Kanki's way instead of Shin's.
I remember that the Shuma Clan are compared to the Zenou Clan but I don't recall Shuma being directly compared to Zenou in strength.
Still, Shuma might be the second strongest fighter of the Kanki Army if we go by supposed hype (cause he sure ain't got many feats and he sure ain't getting anymore).

The biggest threat to the ambush succeeding is not Ri Boku's martial prowess, but the ability of his to reach him.
Using the HSA to kill Ri Boku would be as strategically prudent as Ri Boku trying to escape.

As long as Kanki got Riboku escape routes covered it is/was good plan. Riboku can't handle all of Kanki elites either. Let's just say it was pure luck he survived so far.
Also, Generals look fwd to grabbing Achievements. Kanki can't let Shin steal the show when he's got Riboku where he wants him to be. He's won all his wars so far without Hi Shin by his side and this should be no different as long as none of Riboku G can come to his aid.

I think put Ryokugyu and Zenou to guard the exit while putting three way pincer via Shin KyouKai and Shuma on Riboku and target would've been achieved but that just not had to take place that's why just let thing go on without question. Lol
Or switch positions in between Shuma and Zenou.

If Kanki survives and it isn't the time for him to leave than Kanyou going to label him as the MVP of the series. Lol
On a strategic and tactic pov, Shin has been doing good this arc. He was the only one with Kanki knowing that there was some trap awaiting them, he was also able to lead his army to escape RBK's cage and kept his calm, just like Kanki.
But this is Kanki's arc vs RBK, I can understand why he is on the sideline in favor of Kanki. We know that Hara couldn't have Shin's group against RBK's one because plot armor has its limit, Shin would have been too strong for them to handle especially with Kyoukai and her clone handling the fodders around.

Ohh you took it on wrong way buddy. I meant secondary role with the amount of panels Shin gets this time or generals he fought with (like in ShukaiPlains alone shin fought with 5 generals). I believe it would be the least in all of the wars he was part of. Shin's development been good without a doubt.

Shin's development as instinctual commander and as a leader went perfectly. While also getting remark on it from Riboku and got compared with Duke was too good for him. Though i might be expecting too much but since Gyou'un vs Shin, i wanted to see some badass moments from Shin while using instinctual strategies/movements (like in this instance some fightings or confusing enemy or other tricks along with how he escaped from encirclement). And than receiving those remarks. Lol
