I don't see Yotanwa matching Shibashou for brute strength, dude looks almost twice Tanwa's height and 3x her weight. Lol.
I imagine they'll both be experienced fighters with YTW perhaps having an edge in experience due to never having been retired. Dunno about Weight but Weight can be overpowered by brute force anyway (e.g. Moubu vs Kanmei and Mougou vs Renpa).
That leaves speed, which is the only way I can see YTW beating SBS. If Tanwa is enough of a speed demon that she can overwhelm Shiba's guard and avoid his attacks then she could win. If Shiba can deal with her speed then she is probably screwed. Lol.
We should never underestimate Tanwa even though I was disappointed with her role against the Quanrong but she is a King herself equal to Sei. She can pull strength out of her army I imagine is at on Ouki level or above. She is also a "traditional general" for at least 4 years.
But I agree if she's matched up with SBS she's getting hypetooled.

SBS can be stronger than Houken in an all out battle even if he would be weaker than him martially. For that obviously SBS would need a solid drive like defending Seika or something like that.
Weight is a factor, yes, but Hara hasn't given a boost big enough to bridge that gap (and then some) since Ou Ki - and Hara loves that mfer, so no surprise there.
Even Shin didn't really win all that clean. Granted, he was nerfed, but Hou Ken just had bits of him shaved off by Kyou Kai and was psychologically compromised before the battle ended.
I don't think SBS has the same weight as a bona fide Great Generals of the Heavens like Ou Ki or can move with the agility and speed that Kyou Kai and (to a lesser extent) Shin can, so I think he'd be an huuuge underdog, even if Seika was on the line. In my view, anyway.
SBS has to be stronger just in terms of base abilities.
That said, besides Shin (eventually), YTW is probably the only one with a shot to match Ou Ki's "weight factor" in a fight, just based on what she means to her people, and what they mean to her.
I dislike the concept of weight as is established in Kingdom, but based on that logic, YTW should be able to win a fair one against anyone. (Maybe even Hou Ken, but I hesitate to go there.)
Shibashou might be able to outplay the Mountain army, putting them in deep trouble and at the same time, when the timing is right and the conditions allow it, lead his elite soldiers (who are probably extremely strong lol) with an Ouki-style assault targetting the enemy commander's head.
And if it ends up with that and Yotanwa and a bunch of her own mountain madlads have to defend against that...they are likely to be bested imo.
Above. Go reread the siege of Retsubi, Yotanwa’s troops’ war cry was shaking the city walls. She is the best morale raiser we’ve seen in the manga.
I guess I am the only one who thinks Yotanwa would just get immediately one shot if it came to a duel between her and Shibashou lol, Yotanwa fights with skill and finess, she would have no way to defend herself from somebody like Moubu or Shibashou swinging a giant heavy weapon at her with full force.
