Chapter Title: Big Woman
Flashback opens with Sou’Ou repeatedly calling Shiryou beautiful, but she calls him disgusting. Sou’Ou and the other soldiers are discussing Shiryou and how strong she is. She’s a mercenary fighting for the Ousen army atm, but the other soldiers are worried about what would happen if she were their enemy. Sou’Ou starts following Shiryou around the battlefield calling her beautiful and trying to give her a flower. The other mercenaries warn Shiryou that Sou’Ou is a capable officer but a known playboy. He’s probably just teasing Shiryou so he can sleep with her. They tell her not to cause any trouble so they can keep earning money here for now. Sou’Ou calls her beautiful one more time and Shiryou angrily reveals her missing eye and asks just what part of her is beautiful. Sou’Ou declares that he likes everything about her. After they smash, Shiryou assumes he’s had his fill of her, but Sou’Ou says there’s no one as beautiful as her and orders her to stay by his side forever. During the day, at night, at home, on the battlefield. Always together. She agrees and he says they will live their lives together until death separates them.
Shiryou yells for Sou’Ou to go to Ousen as she fights Kan Saro and Ji Aga. Denrimi is also yelling at Sou’Ou to take command of reinforcements heading to Ousen while Shin Kakugaku and Sanshuu are ordered to stay behind. Sou’Ou issues the order for his army to split in two. His direct unit of 5k along with an additional 3k are heading to where Ousen is. Denrimi likewise orders half of his army to stay while the other half will move to Ousen. Kan Saro tells him men to stop Sou’Ou and Denrimi, but Shiryou moves her unit to block them. Sou’Ou yells out, “Shiryou! Just like always! Once this battle is over, I will embrace you passionately!”
He says he’ll be back as soon as Shibashou is dead and tells her to leave some of her strength for tonight. He then turns and orders his men forward. He says they’ll trample over Shibashou’s Army from the rear and won’t stop until they take his head. Kan Saro tells Ji Aga to handle this battle while he heads to Shibashou, but Shiryou jumps in and hits him hard followed by knocking away Ji Aga. Seika’s soldiers are shocked that this big woman really intends to take on the strongest two in Seika. Shiryou says she won’t allow them to interfere with Sou’Ou. Kan Saro responds by saying he has no choice but to kill her then, although he doesn’t particularly want to. He, too, has to protect his master.
Sou’Ou and Denrimi are heading to Ousen when Denrimi starts coughing up more blood. Sou’Ou tells him to hang back, but Denrimi insists his tactical skills will still be necessary. He points out to Sou’Ou that Shibashou’s army is cutting into Ousen’s army despite them having the same numbers. He says that the strength of Shibashou’s advance comes from the units in the rear pushing the frontlines forward. So Shiryou and her unit staying behind so their 8k army could come here has meaning. Sou’Ou reluctantly agrees that their attack on Shibashou’s rear will undoubtedly cause his army to lose their forward momentum.
