It ain’t that bad. I’d still give Hango an 8/10. Nobody was ruined, Riboku was just better than Qin. He put them in a situation they couldn’t salvage and capitalized on it.

Advanced formations are not always possible or desirable guys. A standard army is already deployed into combat formation, you don’t always want to break those formations and lines.

That’s the entire concept of a pincer. Facing an army head on is tough because the enemy is lined up in a way that makes them best capable of fighting the army right in front of them. Hitting them from the side or rear eliminates that advantage.

And we literally did see Ousen use the Tiger’s Anguish which was a similar formation to what Gokei used against Duke Hyou.

What a lie lol. Riboku is everywhere. Setting up strategies for every wing, finding weaknesses and passing them down to his generals, joining the battle if necessary and slaying commanders with his own hands, laying out traps etc etc

Riboku is so much superior in versatility it's actually scary.

Ousen’s plan was to pull Shin and Ouhon for help. It was Riboku who took that option away from him.

The more I look back on Hango, the more I am okay with the tactics and strategy aspect. Ousen couldn’t come up with a conclusive plan immediately because there were too many unknowns in the Seika army. Meanwhile Riboku acted immediately because he had near perfect intel.

My issues with Hango are the emotional moments being weird or contrived. I give zero shits about Sou’Ou and Shiryu. The more Hara keeps them around, the more I will start to resent their panel time. I also don’t care much about Kititty and Heki, though their panel time has been pretty brief.

This battle was not about RBK anyways, but he even got a nice "feat" with his speech which rallied Seika like a King would.

talk no jutsu is not a feat for me. He used no formations no tactics nothing, he made shin chase was the closest thing to a tactic he used then he did nothing as sbs literally won against ousen for him.

Riboku doesn't need to prove anything. This battle was not meant to showcase RBK's skills we've seen all he can do over several battles in the last campaigns.

Not to dismiss your criticism but I don't feel like Hara ruined the series with Hango, it's an arc that definitely could have been done better but it's nowhere near the trainwreck that was Gian.

Ousen facing off against SBS/Riboku in relative numbers, the match-ups between their vassals (Akou vs Gakushou, Shiryuu vs Ji Aga/Kan Saro, etc.), SBS reaching Ousen's hq and killing Akou were all great moments imo. Hara also did a great job at giving the Seika army so much personality, plenty of moments where I was at the edge of my seat while reading.

I do agree that Shin/Ouhon and YTW were poorly handled, Shin especially. As for the lack of formations, I geuss Hara didn't want to bother with a similar situation like at the Shukai plains where the Zhao commanders had to find a way to bypass Akou's Shells formation since Hara was already planning on having SBS reach Ousen anyway, and as @Lee Ba Shou pointed out, Ousen did use the Tiger formation.

Overall not Hara's best campaign but not terribly bad either, probably a 6/10 for me.

i dont care about agenda in kingdom or Ls and Ws, the only reason i stan qin here is cause i know they'll win in the end.
But rbk and ousen are the historical rivals and yet every one of their battles ends with either houken or sbs doing the gran finale for rbk
