Gaimou wasn’t just a Great General, he was a named Great General (IE, Fire Dragon). How can you say being named a Great General of a major state doesn’t mean anything lmfao…when Kyou’En never became a Great General of Zhao at all.

Gaimou apparently took the heads of 100+ generals in battle. If you think about it, it's unlikely those guys all just accepted the duel when Gaimou shouted to them, but rather he had to work his way to have 1 vs 1.

On his own Gaimou probably doesn't do much commanding, but when you combine him with 91 intel of Jousou then I don't think any of Heavenly Kings can match them.

So Gaimou and 91 intel Junsou are a bigger threat than Hakuki, Ouki or Renpa

So, in Kingdom, a General is someone who leads armies to victory. Some generals due this with tactics, some generals do this with martial prowess, some generals do this by raising the morale of their own soldiers up into oblivion. None of these methods of leading soldiers are more or less valid than any others.

There has never. Not once. Been a panel in this manga that says a general who is a tactician is more valid than a general who leads by martial prowess. Seriously do you need to go reread Hango lol? Shibashou the warrior just utterly curbstomped Ousen the tactician, where are you getting this idea that martial generals are less valid than tacticians???

The problem is that the circumstances of those battles were never revealed.

What were the number of soldiers on both sides? Did Kyouen had any deputy generals or was he commanding the troops alone? Was he working according to a plan written by himself or someone else? Did he had any field advantages? Those are all factors you have to consider and the manga never goes into details.

For example Shunsuijuu already faced and survived multiple battles against 6GG (Yotanwa two times, Ousen in the siege of Atsuyo, Kanki during Gi'An Invasion and the future 6GG Mouten). So the question is, was Kyouen facing the old gen comperable to this?

The thing about Kyouen is that in Sanyou he was completely outplayed by Ousen. And if Ousen didn't waste time trying to recruit him then Kyouen would have been dead, since Renpa most likely wouldn't be able to come in time to save him.
