Social sciences like history, sociology, psychology, geography and so on are very very important. You would be surprised how much research goes into history esp when it is about uncovering ancient texts, deciphering glyphs and so on
back on college i had a "summer job" of helping archaeologist dig up stuff, the amount of precision and strict work ethic employed was massive. We spent like 4 days just carefully digging stuff up and examining them with upmost care.
