Yes. The thing that richer people didn't like was how that plan would ration healthcare based on need. If you urgently needed a life saving procedure you'd get it effective immediately. But if it's something that's not an emergency you'd have to wait a bit. They don't want to wait.

I think we aren't in a situation where that is justified. Democracy is broken, that's true, but I believe that it will be that process that ultimately brings about the change we need. FDR did it in the 30s.
