I was always a stupid band aid solution to racial inequality.
Harvard and those colleges were actually being racist. The term “Asian” covers a variety of different ethnicities from various countries. Upper caste Indians are over represented in these universities, however dalits aren’t. Yet by their standards, they’d both be classified as “Asian” and similarly discriminated against.
Idk why the left is so hell bent on preserving affirmative action when there are much better alternatives, ex. Actual slavery reparations.
That way you’re actually going to be benefiting descendants of slavery, whereas often times wealthy African immigrants end up benefiting from AA.

Reparations isn’t discrimination.
Giving benefits to certain segments of the population isn’t discriminatory. Otherwise you could say Medicare is discriminatory because young people can’t usually get it.
The government should help all people, but different people require different forms of help.
College graduates need student loan forgiveness. Black people need restitution for the oppression their community suffered. Poor white people need more development in rural areas.
A big reason why nothing ever gets done is that people are so opposed to helping anybody other than themselves. Not every form of government action needs to benefit everybody.

What he's saying is that tearing down statues of supposed oppressors in an act of indignant self-indulgence is the height of hypocrisy. It's childish and destructive. It accomplishes nothing.
The concept of reparations is the appropriation of wealth from the wrong people for the wrong people. People just want free stuff. This is not about justice, it is about greed. Taking money from a white guy who never committed a crime will not appease or achieve justice for your ancestor. It does not change history. It does not undo a sin, even more so because that sin does not belong to the descendent.
You just want a good excuse for moral supremacy through a hierarchical structure based entirely on supposed oppression.

I have apologised. And accepted that I should not have gone so far. I stand by some of my views, but I went about things the wrong way. If you're going to continue to hold onto it, that is your prerogative.

Its hard to refute your point because it is baseless and inflammatory. What is there to say to "your oppression isn't real you just want free money" besides "I disagree."
