As you can see, most of the Muslims are from war torn or previously colonized countries; Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Syria, Egypt, Iran (sanctioned).
Even from this list, 11% are from India (total).
Again, it has more to do with what US has been up to and their current capacity to host immigrants. It seems they are already taking action;
NOTE; The data I showed before was from 2017. It seems US took action after that in 2018 and number of Muslims immigrants declined (surprise; Trump era).
