Pakistani security forces have launched sweeps to arrest and deport Afghans who are in the country without papers.

No Human Rights Activist would say anything.

But when it comes to deporting Rohingyas, everyone loses their minds!

I'm not going to defend colonialism, those guys who settle in the west bank are most definitely engaging in it. But my only point is that I believe most of the people who do this sincerely believe that they are jews and are following a fundamentalist extreme version of judaism , rather than just converting to judaism for the sake of colonizing palestine.

Like I said, orthodox conversion is a serious process. And I don't think you can bribe your way in or anything. The rabbinate in israel is extremely conservative. These guys are as by the books as you get. There are certain religions that identify themselves as jewish, like Messianic judaism or the black hebrew israelite movement, that aren't aknowledged as jewish by the wider jewish community. These guys' conversions don't count.

Similarly, reform judaism, while being a recognized denomination of judaism by Israel as far as the law of return is concerned, is held to a different standard specifically because conversion to reform judaism isn't as rigorous as conversion to orthodox. Hence while I, a reform convert, could theoretically make aliyah and gain israeli citizenship, I wouldn't be classified as jewish in the state of israel's civil code.

Israel ultimately wants to create a theocratic ethnostate. They want people who are immigrating to be as jewish as possible. If you could just buy your way it would defeat the purpose of the law.

In fact the israeli right wants to make immigration even more strict by demanding that only orthodox conversions, as opposed to the more lax conservative and reform conversions, are valid for law of return.

I just don't think they'd let anyone in. Even if they're white or have money.

Pakistan has over 4 million Afghan refugees.

We are deporting only undocumented ones (1.7 million).

Indians are here with their propaganda, or they dont know about the ground realities.

These 1.7m poor, unemployed Afghanis end up being tool of the rich corrupt people. They hire these Afghans to grab land, do illegal activities, dollar and flour smuggling, and much more.

The best option is to deport them. There will be an uproar if Pakistani authorities start capturing those Afghanis.
Plus, the border is always open for trade. They do the work for corrupt people, mostly politicians (target killing, etc) and flee back to Afghanistan.

It is a very complex situation. If Pakistan punish these Afghanis, then the Afghan military respond by attacking our forces on border.

Plus, you cant blame Pakistan for what USSR and USA did to Afghanistan.

deportation is a cruel and inhumane process. Immigrants are good people and benefit the host country.

Any moral nation has an obligation to help those who are fleeing persecution, violence, and even poverty.
