Bitch please, you just want the untalented etc to get their participation trophies. Loser mentality.
"Untalented".

I would like you to take a second to think about this word you just used.

So, to begin with, what "talent" means ? > To have a "Talent" means to have a natural set of skills. This means that no matter if you work hard or not, if you don't have a "talent", you are by defaut excluded from ever being able to reach your own "glory". In other words, they are people with talent and there are those without it. Or in Nazi words, "there are those who were born superior people and the others"

You see, "Talent" is also what we attribute to people who became Billionnaires.. Talent is what we attribute to great men, great politics, great storytellers.. I myself have made the mistake to call Oda a "talented" writer multiple times.. But we need to realize that "talent" - in fact - does not exist.

> Talent is an outdated manner of seeing success. In reality success does not comes through Talent.

Oh... but you might reply to me.. "so you want to get their participation trophies to those who don't deserve it, those without merit"

And... again.. Same problem. What is "merit" ? Merit relies on the principle that work alone can lead to success. While it might be a LITTLE more true in sport than in the rest of society.. work alone does not equate success. If that was the case, all sportives would get a medal. Nah... The reality of this world is that - again - every person on this planet has different access to different forms of capitals during their development. For example, as mentionned earlier, lower income can often means lower degrees of participation in sportive activities. There are hundreds of example like this one where the capitals of a person plays a role in their chances of success. Work is only the surface. So...

> Merit is ALSO an outdated manner of seeing success.

As you can see Talent and Merit are two very bad method of judging the quelity of the success of a personn from an objective standpoint and those two notions creates inequalities in both sport and in society. Where Wealth and fields are monopolized by very few.

My answer is that we need to change that in the long term, and think about ways to create more equity in the short term.

But go ahead, if you think that I want to get a participation trophee to everyone...

Well you are completely right, that's exactly what I want. Honors should not be reserved to the few.

Blah blah blah, TL/DR I could not care less what you have to say here. Anything you could say just sounds like excuses and stupid emotionally driven drivel.

regardless of success, talent definitely is a thing that exists. doesnt mean people without talent cant achieve the same results with hard work

talent definitely is a thing that exists
No, I'm sorry. It simply does not.

What exist are differences in biologies which COULD explain why some people see the world a way and other another or why some people can have facilities in some physical field and others not so much.

But talent ? No. There is no such thing in our reality.

What exist is a mixt of chaotic randomness (that we can call luck), the result of social/economic and cultural capitals and work. All of this combined CAN create success but not always. What we call "Talent" is only the result of our survivor bias, it simply does not exist.

Oda - for example who is said to be extremelly talented, even by me - is not talented, he was fed the right education, had the right synaptic connections between subjects, constructed the right idea, entered the writing/manga world at the right moment with the right subject and has been repeating that pattern ever since through luck, work and his own knowledge of his craft. Someone else with the same story could get the same result in the same context or not in another.

Social, cultural, economic and political contexts are everything. Talent is just a myth to stop us from questionning our system.

I said regardless of succes mate.

And at best you are arguing semantics. So yeah, talent is a thing, even if you dont like the term because you are linking it to something that isnt necessarily the case for the term.

So yeah, talent is a thing
Again, no. (I edited my previous post to make it clearer)

It simply does not exist.

Goodness or quality, regardless of success, does not come naturally. It comes through a mix of:
- Luck/chaotic randomness (the materialistic type, not the mystical one)
- The physical and mental well being
- The capitals (Cultural/Social/Economical)
- Work

The first thing is not dependant of our body, the second is not related to quality and the other two are learned and therefore can't be natural.

What you call "talent" is a myth of liberalism created to keep the few into power in all types of field and prevent us from quesitonning our system.

This is not a semantic game. This is reality.

No one cares about you redefining shit bro.

Whether you call it luck or Talent that someone is naturally good at playing instruments or drawing or whatever, i dont care. This shit exists.

No one cares about you redefining shit bro.
I'm not redefining anything, I'm showing why talent can't exist in the sence people are trying to apply in everyday life.

Also, you really have a dictionnary issue bro.

Talent, again, does NOT exist.

Granted, there are geniuses. Mozart for example, or some people with asperger syndrom. But those are not "talented", those people are simply gifted by nature with a synaptic connection that allows them to learn and create things immensly faster that the rest and deliver it with precise accuracy. People like that do exist, but in our current capitalistic world, they only appear in expertise fields once in a lifetime.

And EVEN them are not born with quality in their hands, they have to work their way through it. The only difference is that instead of having to practice for 5, 10 or 20 years, they might be able to to it in a single 1. They are just fast learner and more creative. In that sence, yes, they are geniuses.

The problem with "talent" is its usage. Talented people could mean geniuses with superhuman abilities, but that's not the case. We call "Talented" everyone that depict strong form of creativity, everyone that gets gut in sport or everyone with a lot of charisma (to name just a few example). And THIS is what the myth is.

The word "Talent" is a carrot hanging in front of people's eyes to prevent us from questionning why some people have an easier access to some form of capitals rather than others. Talent simply does not exist. There are those who are gifted with a superhuman capacity that are extremely rare cases and everyone else that struggle through the competition that is society.

We call "talented", those who manage - because of the right sociological and environmental context - to get on top, but this only invisibilize all the others who gave their all to try to succeed and "failed". Those people are not "untalented". Those people simply didn't have the same chances in life.

People like Oda are not "talented", they just had the right chances, the perfect education and made the right choice at the right time.

So two of the most annoying users here are going head to head. In spite of what you all may think, I find logiko to be 10 times more bearable than ravager. At least logiko has a semblance of an idea of what he’s talking about.
Spare me the false compliment.

Is there an actual reason for you to keep throwing sh*t my way ? Because you seem to agree with every political things I say while I don't have anything to say about your political takes (At least until now, since you don't really take much risks).. And yet you keep on being hostile again and again toward me.

Did I do something to you mate ? Because if we are talking about annoying behavior, you really ARE NOT WELL PLACED to talk here buddy. If you want to compare the way you and I talk to people here, we can have fun...

So please, chill the F down with me before I start calling you a social traitor. 'Cause if there is one thing I can't stand, its opportunists who try to look good by putting others down, including those they agree with.

You treat this forum as if it’s real life bro. For the sake of your own mental health you should stop doing that.

who cares if I find you annoying? You really shouldn’t put much stock in what people say in here about you. I don’t owe you any sort of allegiance just because we agree on certain things, so spare me with the “traitor” threats.

And just so you know, I am honest to a fault, at least when I post in here, and I am being serious when I say I find you extremely annoying. You don’t talk WITH users frenchie, you talk AT them, which explains why even some of the nicest users like Reloded can’t stand you.

you’re in your 30s man. Stop treating this forum as a replacement for real life, it really isn’t.

The point is not to make people with disability compete with people without them, the point is to make the competitive scene more accessible for all people. Because income is not the only thing that create inequalities in term of access to sport.
Bro pro sports is so overrated, they all end up destroying their bodies and without brand sponsorships they wouldn't be making any money after that happened and they're too old.
Btw you ever heard of the Paralympics?

Steroids :finally:

To be fair, since October 7th Logiko has been posting valuable stuff and dropped the lame ass video essays with pop culture examples about cis white males

Can't argue that he isn't still like this though

Stop Sport is only good as battle training, steroids should be allowed as it doesn't matter how victory is achieved, lame ass competitive games are nonsense as they have nothing to do with the reality of combat, the only kind of games that should be accepted are those that don't sugar coat the true nature of physical conflict such as the Mesoamerican ballgame where winning was only possible by piling up the dead bodies of the opposing as well as your own team.

I'm taking notes for the Mesoamerican ballgame :steef:

Imagine the world cup on steroids -and whatnot- now :finally:

Would Cristiano and Messi still stand at the top :jay-he:

You treat this forum as if it’s real life bro.
Mate. Time to get a reality check. This forum IS real life. Wether you want it or not, those who you are interacting with here are real person with real feelings that can pass through real sh*t. So you words have REAL impacts. Only people that want to be deresponsibilized from their behavior treat Internet as "not real".

All you do here, IS real.

who cares if I find you annoying? You really shouldn’t put much stock in what people say in here about you. I don’t owe you any sort of allegiance just because we agree on certain things, so spare me with the “traitor” threats.
Oh I won't spare you anything. Social traitors are those who - by opportunism - put down their leftist allies in every way they can while they are surrounded by opposite forces.

That's exactly what you are doing in this forum.

Dude, don't you think I find your behavior annoying here ? No ? Well yes, very much. You are insensitive and insulting toward others and yet, you don't see me reminding you how much of a annoying person you are. Simply because I know basic politic and I know that fighting my allies in a territory composed at 95% by the far right, conservatism, apolitical confusionnist and liberals is simply not viable and a political mistake.

I'm not talking here to you as a individual but as a political person. I don't care that you don't like me, I don't like you. Its not about that, its about the way we can we fight bigotry effectively here.

And just so you know, I am honest to a fault, at least when I post in here, and I am being serious when I say I find you extremely annoying. You don’t talk WITH users frenchie, you talk AT them, which explains why even some of the nicest users like Reloded can’t stand you.
Did you ever saw your post mate ? Your are not honest, you are F. rude. And yes, like I said, my goal is not to make friend here. My goal is to stop some behaviors from repeating by explaining things, this is something I've never hidden, if you don't like that, go take a walk.

From now on, I will stop treating you as an political ally. I've been too kind to you. You want to be treated like others ignorant people here ? Fine by me.

you’re in your 30s man. Stop treating this forum as a replacement for real life, it really isn’t.
Sorry, for wanting the only place where I can talk about One Piece to be nontoxic and inclusive. You wanna some meat with your salt ?

So , talented. Gotcha
Nop, no set of skill is natural.

Bro pro sports is so overrated, they all end up destroying their bodies and without brand sponsorships they wouldn't be making any money after that happened and they're too old.
Btw you ever heard of the Paralympics?
Overrated I don't know, but its been a too much usefull tool for capitalism for sure. Yes indeed paralympics are good, but even with that there is a problem of accessibility yet.

To be fair, since October 7th Logiko has been posting valuable stuff and dropped the lame ass video essays with pop culture examples about cis white males
See, the last few month I've been thinking that I really like what you post.. and you give me that sentence... come on !

Can you do me a favor, check the leftist library and go through the section "understanding feminism" ? I think there is a few things that you might wanna see or read there. (Or maybe its something I need to add, I don't know, but if you think this type of video are "lame ass video essay talking about white cis men", there might be a problem that needs to be understood):

Pop culture IS extremely important to understand how society work. Can you explain me why you have a problem with pop culture video ?
