I’m going to be honest. My family is from India. But when I see what’s happening in Canada, I really don’t want a ton of Indians to immigrate to the US.
Not that I have anything against Indians, my entire family is full of them.
But I don’t want to live a place where Indians are like 13%, 20%, or even 50% of the population. Because I really feel like that’s when racism and sectarian conflict becomes a big problem.
I’ve lived all my life in Texas, where the overall Asian population(East Asian + south Asian + southeast Asian) is like 5-6%. And I hardly experience any issues.
But you go onto the Canadian side of the internet and they really have issues with Indians.

Not to mention the whole Khalsa vs hindu thing being a problem in Canada is absolutely wild to me.
Because south Asians are such a small minority in Texas, I’ve always ended up becoming friends with other south Asians from different religions.
Honestly my only south Asian friends are Pakistani Muslims.

In any case, I like my community in Texas. Things are good here. I don’t want this to change because a ton of foreign students and workers come over and now everyone is at each other’s throats.
