While I understand the concerns some local communities might have with their culture being displaced by a large influx of immigrants, I do feel like the right wing perspective on immigration is fundamentally incompatible with the global economy.
The economy is globalized and interconnected. That’s just the world we live in.
The fact that people all over the world want to move to western countries is a good thing for the west. It means these countries are prosperous.
I’d much rather live in a country where people are trying to get in than a country where people are desperately trying to leave. The latter is the direction Trump is taking America and it doesn’t look good.

It's extremely saddening to see what things have become since his first term all those cursed years ago. Whatever happens though, we're gonna have to find a way to adapt, to survive somehow. We have survived far worse as a race before and we will survive, we will persist but my god, we really are going to suffer though, that's what really scares me too. How much we're gonna suffer and struggle. They're only gonna get worse, they're not gonna stop, they're gonna keep escalating until there's a (turning) point of no return ironically.
