Blax is correct. Capitalism really is separate from productivity and merit, as you really need neither to be successful under capitalism. However, they are all symbiotic now since productivity and meritocracy are used to mask the failures of capitalism as a system.
Poverty is an inevitable byproduct of capitalism, and more poverty means more crime since material conditions is the #1 reason people commit crimes in the first place. If you commit a crime, then it is treated asa moral failure in the individual, and that he is lazy without merit for not pulling himself up by his bootstraps.

I think there is a missunderstanding in the way I'm talking about Capitalism, productivism and merit. I'll come back on what I mean by that:
- Merit : Capitalism - as a system combined with the enlightned era philosophies - pushed the emergence of Meritocracy, which is a system that pushes the false belief that meritocracy exist (with all the sub ideologies that come with it)
This means that merit does not exist. As such, capitalists don't need merit - like you said - to be successful. When I'm talking about capitalism being meritocratic, I'm saying that capitalism creates, feeds and use a false system (called meritocracy).
- Productivism: Same thing, when I'm talking about capitalism, I'm not saying that capitalists are necessarily productive, I'm saying that capitalism as an interconnected system, creates the systemic need for productivity to be pushed to the maximum.
As such, it also creates, feed and use a false system of belief that productivism under capitalism is the necessary step to create a more equitable and safe society

Basically, I'm saying that capitalism is a system that creates belief systems and sub interconnected systems that feeds on each others : For ex productivism feeds on meritocracy which is used as a justification and both are used a justification to perpetuate other domination systems such as ableism, patriarchy, imperialism etc.
Those systems are not just here as tool of justifications, but are actively used as tools for more exploitations.
This is why I explain that Capitalism can exist without meritocracy and productivism mindset but can't survive without. Simply because for the population to accept capitalism, Meritocracy is necessary or there will be riots.
You could retork that Capitalism can survive without the beliefs in Meritocracy or productivity if the means of production and wealth are accaparated and used through force and people being inslaved, and I would agree, it can happen, for many years to many decades in fact.
But I consider this system - personnally - as a dying stage of capitalism. The last stand if you prefer, something that can only end on a Massive revolution. We can't return to the old system if there are no people to justify it or take advantage of it through the common shared false belief systems that are productivism and meritocracy.

Talk to trans people, you will see that it's false. In fact, some Trans people are racist bigots who voted for Trump. Trans people are not necessarily leftists and do not date only leftists.

-he was dating what he perceived to be a guy, meaning he was gay. A gay right-winger is not right wing

Imo the path you are on leads somewhere very dark and wrong, and maybe discussing why capitalism is bad will make you more interested in why so many right wing ideas are wrong
