Is saying "no there are no jews in my basement" (when there are, to save them) an immoral thing to say ?

Answer
Obviously, because it is lying

Immoral deed can never justify a good end

You can say "There are Jews in this town, perhaps in that other house", or "I saw them in that outhouse earlier (knowing they are not there anymore, but this would still be a factual statement)".

But lying is evil so it would be evil there to. Although it would be reduced culpability because of extreme circumstance

It depends on if you believe Jesus is God or not

John 14:6

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
No I just genuinely don't believe in any of that stuff
Not saying it's bad to believe in it as I couldn't care less what you believe in so long as you don't use it to harm anyone in anyway
But I personally am agnostic
Mostly because I will never have proof of how we came to be, and I don't know if anyone else ever will.

That should be enough @Uncle Van

Murder is evil too
And I don't imagine they're going to have a tea party with the Jews in your basement and play mario party 3 with them
lol

Alrighty but I think there's two things you should consider:

1. The device you are using now can not come about by chance, you are way more complex than the device you are using, so you also can not exist by chance, and are created intentionally by someone

If you can't believe a phone can appear by chance without being made by someone, how is it possible to believe that you can come about by chance without being made by someone?

2. Similar DNA between some animals' bodies and the human body does not necesarilly mean a common ancestor

There may be only so many ways to build a body

Imagine applying this principle to code or to engineering, some principles in these fields are applied everywhere, yet that does not mean they are branches from one original program, it's just that the way different programs are built has them have some similar parts in the code, because there are only so many ways to build a program

As far as I know every program has different data types in its code, it's just the way a program is built, that's shared among all of them, but it doesn't mean a browser is something % similar to a game, like a chimp DNA being something % similar to human DNA, it has nothing to do with a common origin, just the way bodies are made

I stopped listening to randos on the internet and decided to listen to people who actually put the work in through history.
You say this but at the end of the day you listen to Graham Hancock.

the nature of a pencil is that it's made of wood and lead,
Where do you live that they still sell pencils with lead?!
bro unironically said charlie kirk wasn't racist or homophobic lol
he's hopefully just trolling
He's a bot or someone's alt account

You are obliged to use moral means to prevent an evil from occuring. You are not obligated (in fact the opposite) to use immoral means such as lying to prevent said evil.

that is your personal belief
It's my personal belief that heart is meant to pump blood, or the heart is really and actually meant to pump blood?

Or that eyes are meant to see?

I think it's fine to lie if it saves a life lol

To speed things up, human sexuality is ordered towards heterosexual sex because that is their natural biological purpose. Something like homosexual sex obviously violates this purpose because it is inherently sterile and not life-producing. @Monkey D Theories

No it's not. Good end doesn't justify evil means.

If you are to lie to save a life, you are doing something evil in order to do something good. That is immoral

Is it really evil if it saves their life?
Keep in mind, actually telling the truth there would be indirectly murdering someone. It's like ordering a hitman on someone.

I would ask what counts as an act of omission since that is what we are categorizing not lying here as

An act of omission I would define as not doing something when you could have without physical or moral constraint.

Isn't not lying, a moral constraint? You couldn't save the Jews here without first doing something evil if you were to lie.

I agree. You would be morally obligated not to reveal that truth. You also have the moral obligation not to lie. That's why I said you can use diversion (saying something that is true but misleading)

Problem being, you say anything else and they raid your house looking for jews
Hell they might just do it anyway, but it's best to try and lead them astray.
What choice would you make in that situation?

from a moral standpoint, you have no control in this situation from the perspective of preventing them from being caught, all you can do is make a moral decision

in this scenario, that either means staying silent or saying something true but diversive

What choice would you make in that situation?
I would say something true but misleading. Probably something along the lines of, "I saw them in -insert place they were earlier-."

Lying is simply saying words that are at odds with the truth. If you say something objectively true but they become mislead, that is their fault
