A zookeeper is basically a janitor. You can cope with it, but not many people look at you and go, "I want to be like him when I grow up." Completely different job from that guy that lurked in here that did forestry. Not much money in that, but there are plenty of people out there that are into that kind of outdoor lifestyle; can't say the same about zookeepers.

What is funny is that you make three mistakes one is the fact of thinking that poor people can actually choose to do better payed jobs and are not completely blocked by the system and two.. the fact of thinking that you do not provide any added value by working a 12hours 6x day shift to flip burgers.

The world isn't fair. It is what it is. Yeah, most people that are forced to work on factories (and other similar jobs) won't have the time, energy or resources to seek education to move to better positions. It is what it is.
