Da'awa circles are becoming more popular in the west
Tbh Jews really ought to proselytize. The insularity of the religion is tbh a flaw, especially post-Zionism.
Jews weren’t always insular, they did proselytize back in the day. But due to the rise of Christianity and Islam, Jewish conversions basically became illegal and rabbis/converts could get killed for performing conversions. Which is why until recently conversion to Judaism was very rare.
The issue with insularity is that Jews no longer live in ghettos and shtetls, they have a whole ass country in the Middle East. A key strength of any country is its ability to assimilate neighboring tribes. Israel cannot do that due to how exclusive Jewish conversion is. Hence it’s in perpetual conflict with its neighbors that it has an inherent adversarial relationship with.
This is in contrast to past Christian and Muslim empires that held the levant, which simply converted the Palestinians. Israel can’t do that, so now there is a forever war.
Certainly this isn’t some sort of magic bullet to the conflict. Israel does need to just stop oppressing these people and trying to steal their land. But also, the ability to assimilate Arabs into a Zionist Jewish identity would probably make the Middle East more stable in the long run.
