Manga Discussion Give me a theme, I give you a manga

Better storyline than FMAB.
It doesn't have to be brotherly/nakama themed, as long as it has good coherent storytelling. Have many unexpected twist that still logically sound will be preferred.
For Shonen you could always try out Hell's Paradise
Coherent storyline, flashed out characters with clear motivations, and a couple of great twists along the way
And not a behemoth with 500+ chapters either

Something with MC that resembles Hiruma Youichi - smart, goal-oriented to the point of being ruthless, yet not a total psycho, more like a jerk with a deeply, veeery deeply hidden heart of gold (rarely shown though).

Any ideas?

Tomodachi Game :endthis:

Okay, after catching up with Dandadan, I continued with Tomodachi game, and it gets a lot better after chapter 10 or so. The MC really shines there and it becomes a lot more interesting to observe him!

Most of all it reminds me of Death Note now (which I liked and which was my first manga I've ever read btw, before that I was anime only, and now I'm manga only, lol).

You once said that you know a lot of mangas that are better than Shit Piece, right?
So i'm going to ask you specifically.
I am currently reading HunterXHunter in binge, and after finish it,i will read Sakamoto Days in binge.
HunterXHunter caught my interest because i read people in the forum speak highly of its engrossing power system, sense of adventure and well-handled large cast. Sakamoto Days caught my interest because i've also read people speak highly of it,and also because it's a action-centered story set in the real world.
Do you know some mangas that share these aspects to recommend me?
I am also open to know some good webtoons,in the case of you know some good ones.

Something like HxH would deffo be Yu Yu Hakusho. It's also written by the same author. I've seen people argue that it might even be better than HxH. I personally have not read it tho.
Yusuke Urameshi was a tough teen delinquent until one selfless act changed his life... by ending it. When he died saving a little kid from a speeding car, the afterlife didn't know what to do with him, so it gave him a second chance at life. Now, Yusuke is a ghost with a mission, performing good deeds at the behest of Botan, the ferrywoman of the River Styx, and Koenma, the pacifier-sucking judge of the dead.

Another one imo is D.Gray-Man.

Set in a fictional 19th century England, D.Gray-man is the story of Allen Walker, a 15-year-old boy who roams the earth in search of Innocence. Washed away to unknown parts of the world after the Great Flood, Innocence is the mysterious substance used to create weapons that obliterate demons known as akuma.

Thousands of years ago, there existed those gifted with the power of God. Their mission: to destroy the ominous evils that lurk in the darkness known as "Akuma." Led by the Milenium Earl, Akuma seek to destroy fragments of "Innocence," the only weapons capable of harming the Earl and his army and bring about the Great Flood from a hundred years ago.

To prevent this tragedy from happening, the Black Order was formed as an organization dedicated to fighting the Earl. They recruit Exorcists, those with the inherent ability to accomodate Innocence, to fight against the Akuma.

In the late 19th century, Allen Walker—a white-haired boy armed with Innocence that takes the form of his entire left arm and a cursed eye that can see Akuma—is sent to the Black Order. There, Allen meets various comrades from the Order—the mercurial Yuu Kanda, the kindhearted Lenalee Lee, and the cheerful yet mysterious Lavi. Despite their different personalities, they have one goal in mind: to bring salvation to the souls of Akuma and prevent the Earl from destroying the world.

Another one would prolly be Fullmetal Alchemist
In an alchemical ritual gone wrong, Edward Elric lost his arm and his leg, and his brother Alphonse became nothing but a soul in a suit of armor. Equipped with mechanical "auto-mail" limbs, Edward becomes a state alchemist, seeking the one thing that can restore his brother and himself... the legendary Philosopher's Stone.

Some like Sakamoto would be
One Punch Man for starters imo
In this new action-comedy, everything about a young man named Saitama screams "AVERAGE," from his lifeless expression to his bald head, to his unimpressive physique. However, this average-looking fellow doesn't have your average problem... He's actually a superhero that's looking for tough opponents! The problem is, every time he finds a promising candidate he beats the snot out of them in one punch. Can Saitama finally find an evil villain strong enough to challenge him? Follow Saitama through his hilarious romps as he searches for new bad guys to challenge!

Dandadan too imo. It has great action, funny moments.
  • Ken Takakura, a boy who is an occult fanatic who doesn't believe in ghosts, and Momo Ayase, a girl who doesn't believe in aliens, encounter overwhelming strangeness that transcends their mutual understanding...! An occult coming-of-age story!

After being aggressively rejected, Momo Ayase finds herself sulking when she stumbles across a boy being bullied. Saved by her rash kindness, the occult-obsessed boy attempts to speak to her about supernatural interests he believes they share. Rejecting his claims, Ayase proclaimed that she instead is a believer in ghosts, starting an argument between the two over which is real.

In a bet to determine who is correct, the two decide to separately visit locations associated with both the occult and the supernatural—Ayase visiting the former and the boy visiting the latter. When the two reach their respective places, it turns out that neither was wrong and that both the occult and ghosts do exist.

This marks the beginning of Ayase and the boy's adventure, as they attempt to fix the surreal, supernatural, and sci-fi elements around them to return to a normal life.

Some other favourites of mine are
Bungo Stray Dogs
Nakajima Atsushi was kicked out of his orphanage, and now he has no place to go and no food. While he is standing by a river, on the brink of starvation, he rescues a man whimsically attempting suicide. That man is Dazai Osamu, and he and his partner Kunikida are members of a very special detective agency. They have supernatural powers, and deal with cases that are too dangerous for the police or the military. They're tracking down a tiger that has appeared in the area recently, around the time Atsushi came to the area. The tiger seems to have a connection to Atsushi, and by the time the case is solved, it is clear that Atsushi's future will involve much more of Dazai and the rest of the detectives!

Moriarty the Patriot
In the late 19th century, the British Empire has become a global power. Due to the strict class stratification, the average citizen has little chance of successfully rising up to the top, where the despicable nobility rules over them all.

William James Moriarty, the second son of the Moriarty household, is a young mathematics professor who has displayed great cunning and intellect since he was a child. Along with his brothers Albert and Louis, he lives the simple life of a noble. Outside of school, William is a well-known private consultant willing to solve the problems of anyone in need. However, his gentle demeanor belies his position as the head of a group prepared to wreak havoc in pursuit of its desire—a new world built from the ashes of the old.

Yuukoku no Moriarty puts a new spin on Arthur Conan Doyle's original work by putting the spotlight on its main antagonist and exploring how he came to be the first and only "criminal consultant."

Vanitas no Carte
Paris, late 19th century. Vanitas is a human who works as a doctor for vampires and wishes to save them. He uses a magical book called The Vanitas Grimoire to dispel an evil curse that corrupts vampires and turns them into blood-sucking monsters. But...this very same book is rumoured to be the cursed tome that gives birth to vampires on nights when the blue moon is full. Noe is a vampire on the hunt for The Grimoire. Who, really, is Dr Vanitas? What are the secrets that he holds, and what fate do those secrets spell for the vampire species?

Pandora Hearts
  • The air of celebration surrounding fifteen-year-old Oz Vessalius's coming-of-age ceremony quickly turns to horror when he is condemned for a sin about which he knows nothing. He is thrown into an eternal prison known as the Abyss, from which there is no escape. There, he meets a young girl named Alice, who is not what she seems. Now that the relentless cogs of fate have begun to turn, will they lead only to crushing despair for Oz, or is there some shred of hope for him to grasp on to?

Some other favourites of mine that can be categorized as a bit darker are
Chainsaw Man
Denji has a simple dream—to live a happy and peaceful life, spending time with a girl he likes. This is a far cry from reality, however, as Denji is forced by the yakuza into killing devils in order to pay off his crushing debts. Using his pet devil Pochita as a weapon, he is ready to do anything for a bit of cash.

Unfortunately, he has outlived his usefulness and is murdered by a devil in contract with the yakuza. However, in an unexpected turn of events, Pochita merges with Denji's dead body and grants him the powers of a chainsaw devil. Now able to transform parts of his body into chainsaws, a revived Denji uses his new abilities to quickly and brutally dispatch his enemies. Catching the eye of the official devil hunters who arrive at the scene, he is offered work at the Public Safety Bureau as one of them. Now with the means to face even the toughest of enemies, Denji will stop at nothing to achieve his simple teenage dreams.

Jujutsu Kaisen
Hidden in plain sight, an age-old conflict rages on. Supernatural monsters known as "Curses" terrorize humanity from the shadows, and powerful humans known as "Jujutsu" sorcerers use mystical arts to exterminate them. When high school student Yuuji Itadori finds a dried-up finger of the legendary Curse Sukuna Ryoumen, he suddenly finds himself joining this bloody conflict.

Attacked by a Curse attracted to the finger's power, Yuuji makes a reckless decision to protect himself, gaining the power to combat Curses in the process but also unwittingly unleashing the malicious Sukuna into the world once more. Though Yuuji can control and confine Sukuna to his own body, the Jujutsu world classifies Yuuji as a dangerous, high-level Curse who must be exterminated.

Detained and sentenced to death, Yuuji meets Satoru Gojou—a teacher at Jujutsu High School—who explains that despite his imminent execution, there is an alternative for him. Being a rare vessel to Sukuna, if Yuuji were to die, then Sukuna would perish too. Therefore, if Yuuji were to consume the many other remnants of Sukuna, then Yuuji's subsequent execution would truly eradicate the malicious demon. Taking up this chance to make the world safer and live his life for a little longer, Yuuji enrolls in Jujutsu High, jumping headfirst into a harsh and unforgiving battlefield.

Jigokuraku
Gabimaru the Empty, a former ninja assassin feared as a heartless husk of a man, spends his days on death row wondering when an executioner skilled enough to so much as harm him will arrive, as he thinks nothing of seeing an end to his meaningless existence... Or so he thought. Then the lady executioner, Asaemon the Beheader, rekindles his hope with an astounding proposition. If he ever wishes to see his beloved wife again, he is, under the auspices of the shogunate, to embark on a perilous voyage to the mysterious mystic island said to house the elixir of immortality. Should he be the one among many rival death-row fiends and scoundrels to find the elixir, he'll earn a full exoneration, and, more importantly, a chance at an ordinary married life with the light of his life--the woman who made the world seem not so ugly. What awaits them is a journey like no other!

I've heard a lot about most of them already, but thank you anyways.
I took a Sunday day last year to read One Punch Man in binge. At that time, the manga was at the part where Saitama accepts Tareo's request to defeat Garou. No offense, but it wasn't my cup of tea. It felt like a gag protagonist in a universe of serious things like Condom-Boy in Shit Piece. I like stories where the sense of realism is well-balanced across the board.
Currently,i have karate classes three times a week at 7:30 pm. Plus,my family will open a grocery store here in our city where i will help as my first job.
I just read about Dandadan on the internet, and that's what interested me the most because i'm a nerd fascinated by the idea of extraterrestrial life and other supernatural concepts in real life. I will add it to my list for now so as not to make my daily routine too bloated.
You don't know any webtoons? I've read about this concept and want to try it. I think it's better to read the recommendations than to jump in without thinking about the first thing i see.

@PeperLevi

What kind of mangas do you usually like? HxH has a strong adventure vibe, and the characters have cool abilities.
I'd say FMA can be close enough in terms of plot quality and characters powers versatility.

You could also try Rave Master, it's the first famous manga by Mashima who created Fairy Tail, and tbh it's better in terms of quality, although a bit cliché-y compared to HxH.

As for webtoons, did you try Solo Leveling? The MC is a not annoying Mary Sue, the art is spectacular, the plot is a little weird, but interesting.

I second @Light D Lamperouge in Dandanan, it's crazy cool. Binge read it in 1,5 days, loved it and still enjoy it on a weekly read.

If you like sports manga, I could recommend good old Eyeshield21, it's one of my favorites.

If you like slice of life manga and didn't try Bakuman yet, I would also recommend. It's interesting in terms of seeing how the manga is made, rated, cancelled, and how actually difficult it can be for the author to finish the manga the way they want. It's a semi-autobiography for Death Note authors, and it was a fun read.

I'm new to the manga industry.
Shit Piece was the very first i followed on a binge. But now that it became a shit manga,i've decided to move on to other things that the manga industry has to offer.
I really don't feel like read Solo Leveling for these reasons:
-I don't want to make the same mistake as Shit Piece. As Shit Piece is the face of manga industry for many people, these people spread the idea that it is the only good thing the industry has to offer, which makes even more people become addicted to just Shit Piece full time without ever knowing other good things beyond this. I am informed that Tower of God and Solo Leveling are among the best-known webtoons, thus i want to try some that are lesser-known so as to enjoy this industry in a out-of-the-box way from the beginning.
-I did read Solo Leveling's synopsis, and it's like My Hero Academia and Black Clover:"A powerless protagonist is bestowed with a massive power by someone/something due to having the necessary qualities.". I'm not interested in anything that has horrible cliches.
These are the things i like in a story:
-Wheter the story is set in a completely fictional universe or a fictional version of our real world,it should be a rich universe with countless things to explore.
-A author who knows how to create concepts, and also execute them properly.
-A story where the sense of realism is well-balanced across the board not matter how fanciful the universe is. After all, there are certain truths about life that even fiction cannot ignore.
If you know webtoons with these aspects, please tell me everything about them.
