This is what Oda told us in the last chapter and it totally make sense :

1. Garp confirmed that the CD escort ( Holy Knights) was more than enough to deal with rocks. He came to God Valley because Roger showed up.

2. Garling isn't the leader of the Holy Knights, there is no reason for him to be stronger than the others. And we know that WB got severly injured by Garling.

3. The Holy Knights are the ultimate protectors of the CD. They're obviously the strongest characters who works for the WG ( with admirals).

1. We have no idea who Garp was talking Kong doesnt command the Holy Knights. He's also the FA at the time, not the WG Commander in Chief. He has zero control over WG operatives, let alone Celestial Dragons

2. Garling IS the Holy Knight leader lol, its flat out stated in Chapter 1086, and we have zero clue of Garling actually scarred WB, he doesnt have that scar in Oden's Flashback either....


Your 3rd point is fine and probably makes sense to a degree, but Imo only Garling is relative to an Admiral or stronger. Its the Gorosei that are probably above all military commanders/leaders. Thats how it feels anyway.

Marines tend to overestimate themselves(and other marines) aside from Sengoku.
