Similar to how Ouki’s fight went
Houken dominates at first, but once Moubu taps into his inner rage he smashes Houken‘s head in
This should be how a battle between the two would most likely go (similar to Kanmei) although Moubu only exploded because Mou Ten came into that fight at an unfortunate time and got slashed as a result.

Let's be honest wouldn't every fight between Houken and a Top Tier combatant general go like that based on him being completely weight-less ?
When Duke Hyou encountered Hou Ken, it didn't take long for him to get overwhelmed from Hou Ken's sheer martial skill and only in a last ditch effort did Duke Hyou manage to grab ahold of one of Houken's arm and break it.

As for Ou Ki's fight? Going to have to re-read that fight alongside Hou Ken's final fight with Shin to see the parallels between the two but I'm on the firm belief that Shin in his absolute peak state (the state where he burned his life out and had to get revived by Kyou Kai) was arguably the strongest character in Kingdom so far?

A hot take right there but I'll try to justify.

Edit: May be a hot take as hot as ghost peppers but Hou Ken beating the crap out of Kyou Kai in her deepest priestess trance (where Kyou Kai's abilities increase drastically) adds towards Houken being the strongest, at least on martial arts abilities.

Duke Hyou by the time he fights Houken has spent 4 days of just traveling non-stop with Hara making sure to add that they had no rest, would be in by no means in a good state to fight fully fresh and healthy Houken.

Depends, not all GGs have the same weight
Gekishin was a legend among men, someone who hard carried the state of Yan for decades, and also a fierce combatant who had slain countless bushins. Right before he faced Houken he talked about the weight of a GG
And what happened?
Houken overpowers him casually with one arm and cuts him in half

Weight is the game changer in the manga there’s no escaping it
That’s why I place Ouki next to Moubu and Kanmei. Ouki is slightly weaker physically, and Moubu/ Kanmei have less weight narratively, overall they’re in the same tier etc

Houken is the peak of physical abilities in the series. Apart from raw strength he should be the strongest in every single stat, that way it would make more sense for him to defeat a handful of Top Generals with weight.

Losing to Shin was just terrible writing man

Wasn't Hou Ken predominantly regarded as a frontline general for the Zhao army due to his martial prowess?

Typically, Riboku handled the strategic and tactical aspects in battles where Houken participated, while Hou Ken contributed by slaughtering enemies in front. Capabilites directly related to leadership and intelligence isn't needed as much in comparison to combat ability. Houken's leadership and intelligence ratings shouldn't be considered extraordinary, especially when compared to other generals, aside from his remarkable strength and combat ability, which has been stated to exceed 100.

Houken never held much weight as a general, primarily because he lacked extensive battlefield experience, including personal responsibility for thousands, if not more, of his own troops on the front lines. This particular issue only hindered him in situations where he had to fight against opponents somewhat comparable to him in strength (Ouki, Shin going full Kaio-Ken during a critical moment in a battle). Other than those two opponents that he faced, Hou Ken's martial ability was strong enough that every other general folded to his might.

Even with a difference of 1 strength rating between two fighters, it usually doesn't take many pages in the chapter to show who is the better/more skilled fighter over the other...

Like Shin (in his normal state) vs Ouhon in their "sparring match"...

Dont forget Houken killed Kyou, Ouki’s lover

that added some good fuel to his fire

without this added weight we don’t really know how great Ouki would have done against Houken.

If they had no history between them, Ouki would do really well because of his strength skills and weight. But likely a little less good too.
