It is dumb. The time limit feels forced. Oda showed just make luffy a little weaker instead of putting a useless time limit

It made him a good deal weaker if he can only keep it up for like 10 minutes and then hes out for a while. But I guess he'll learn to do it for longer times like he did with G4.

He didnt have that disadvantage against Kaido. He straight up restarted G5 after he ran out of it while dying.

The Thing is Oda has to give Luffy some drawbacks which other Charachters dont get because he realises that luffys Power is already at the Peak with almost peak Haki the PROBLEM for us Viewers with this in Mind is that we never ever will see Luffy beeing able to have crazy Battles which are lasting for Days... Luffy doesent has the Haki-Devil Fruit Endurance of real expierienced Top Tiers like:

- Akainu
- Kuzan
- Kaido
- Mihawk
- Shanks
etc.

Luffy would have been more strong without his devil fruit.
Because of his devil fruit , Luffy needs more energy and stamina.
With Gear 5 awakening , consumption of energy and stamina must have increased drastically.

Things will change when Luffy will get more experience in using gear 5

When I see Kizaru using dragon kaido as jump rope , tanking many direct acoc hits to head and body and pulling attack on scale of Barajung gun I will change my opinion.

Its ruined most of of the fights. How is any fight with g5 tense? And what hype is there for the future? Hes probably just going to extend the amount of time he can use g5 and unlock some special punch to defeat imu lol.

Actually, he might have been pushed out of G5 due to Kaido's powerful hit.
In that case, hit that beat stamina restart doesnt even exist. It was just situational.

Honestly it doesn't even have to be a retcon.

Versus Kaido it was a desperate do or die situation. If Luffy lost, everybody dies, the country of Wano is subjected to Kaido's torturous rule and most importantly, Luffy despised Kaido and wanted to beat the shit out of him.

From a story perspective, Kaido was the final antagonist, and Luffy usually passes out only after defeating the final antagonist.

From a story perspective, Kizaru wasn't the final antagonist. Is it do or die? Kinda, but the stakes simply weren't as high on Egghead at that point. Furthermore, Luffy probably felt he did enough to knock Kizaru out of the game so didn't bother forcing himself to continue just to pummel a Kizaru who could no longer move.
