This kind of cope from someone that said in this thread that Shanks is a God when even the joke BM has statements of being stronger than him...may God have mercy on your soul. 
just don't forget to stand up like a man then kowtow to Shanks hype when he fucked your empty hate

Shanks would never get fully offscreened. Now for when they encounter BB pirates it’s possible for things to be like the Ace encounter when we got a glimpse of what their abilities were then the rest of the fight got offscreened, definitely possible. The only way we get a full start to finish battle is if Luffy is present to either fight Shanks or witness Shanks fight someone else.

for 25 years we saw him but we are yet to understand him, what he wants, who he is or anything about him
he is know unknown, he is unpredictable and reasonable at the same time
Oda is planning 25 years for Shanks and there is no limit for what he may do
he might even be the final villain of the story, the one after Teach ...
so don't be fully sure Shanks gonna die by Teach, Shanks might be the end game itself
knowing Buggy, Luffy and BB are DEEPLY connected to Shanks, it's safe to assume next sage is Shanks's saga
dead or villain or alive or anything ... Shanks gonna take the lead of one piece
I can go as far as saying one piece story can not be told without Shanks
he is the key for Luffy growth and the conflix of morality
this is not merely a talk about power level. in power level I can simply give up and say fine
in terms of effect on the story ... he is far above Teach
Teach is the man who will get his ass kicked by Luffy so Luffy can become King
Shanks is the one who will shape Luffy and the final step of the story
this man in the personification of Oda himself walking in the story
Oda uses Shanks like pure gold, only in THE BEST chapters, only with HIGHEST hype
even his picture ONLY show up in BEST chapters ... like 957 or 1053 ...
I'm not even saying it as a Shanks fan
I'm saying this as a One Piece fan
if you don't understand how greatly important Shanks is to the story and how well managed he is ...
you failed to fully understand the story

any one piece fan SHOULD be praying to God and goda to see him in action

I don't doubt he'll play a big role in the upcoming arc. He has been somewhat of a compass to the main character. However here's the thing, especially in Shonen, I view the characters who serve as role models as an extension of the mc himself. The character itself is restricted according to the measures expected by the main character which can only mean linear growth/ portrayal.
Teach is much more solid as a character, he has his unique personality and way of doing things. Shanks looks like a Roger/Rayleigh rip off who's only role is to serve as a path for the mc to hop on.
Teach's background is very mysterious too, how can he be the first in history to eat 2 devil fruits, what is "they", why does he have a "weird body", how come he knows about Xebec and is trying to carry out his will!!
According to Shanks, Teach, as vile as he is, managed to hide his real powers for so long waiting for the right chance and he executed his plans perfectly. His introduction itself shows how he and Luffy are so alike deep down but both took different paths. Despite his genius he doesn't have a single speck of arrogance, personally I think that's his best quality.
I also think Dragon is more important than Shanks. Dragon is Luffy's father, yet in 1000 chapters we still don't even know what his abilities are, not even his power level. He's going to overthrow the world government which eventually will be the final act in the manga. Btw read my Dragon theory link in signature and tell me your opinion.

And here we have the problem Lee.Oda CLEARLY writes his cast with Bias.
Oda dont cares about BM,hence she gets clowned almost all the time.
Kaido got great combat stuff in order to push Luffy(Oda favorite) to the next level.But otherwise Oda dont care about Kaido
Or look at Katakuri.No other FM got so much respect as Kata.Or such amoung of tools

As a shanks fan ive been expecting Shanks to get offscreened by BB for years, but that's just me being paranoid. I see Shanks being a top 3 fighter in world, above BB by however much. Still gonna die protecting luffy tho lol
