Character Discussion How Trafalgar D. Water Law has impacted the story negatively.

I of course mean the tense moments of focus. There are dozens of characters who've saved Luffy in the story, doesn't make them vice captain. Whenever real, character defining moments (TB, WCI) come about, Sanji falls flat.
Sanji offered himself for luffy in tb. Sanjis cooking saved luffy in wci. If sanji did not feed big mom everyone would be dead. Oda retarded sanji down to exceptional levels in wci which is oda's fault.

For some reason Oda gave both Zoro and Sanji the opportunity to save Luffy, made a big shit about it, then gave it to Zoro instead. I feel like the sentiment in WCI was the same: Sanji obviously wants to save his captain/crew, but he can't always execute when it comes down to it. You're right about oda screwing up Sanji in wci though, all of his good qualities go out the window.

That is the point. Law is intervening on strawhat moments.
Yes, Law is on panel so by that logic he is involved in the story. That doesn’t mean Law is making any straw hats less vital to their captain so he’s not “intervening on straw hat moments.” Straw hat moments are just that.

If you’re saying you want Oda to spend more time developing the Straw Hats only, I think that is unrealistic because the story is encompassing the entire world, Oda can’t just focus on 10 people forever. He got to develop and utilize other characters as well. If anything Law helps the story. I think Law helps Robin’s plot for example, by actively giving her someone who is a D. And connected to learning about history, unlike Luffy.

Also, Sanji was never a tactician, he was a spy guy and still is, his character is after James Bond. Bond was not a tactician. He was a resourceful and intelligent field agent, just like Sanji, who comes up with things on the fly to help the straw hat crew. Law is a chess master, calculated, planner type. Not like Sanji at all.

lmao no I still don't think Law has anything to do with that. The qualities I meant were Sanji's trust in Luffy to defeat impossible odds, which he actually teased Zoro for in alabasta when Zoro was on edge about Luffy vs crocodile. Then there's the fact that Sanji actually thought that under any conditions Luffy would abandon him and move on. Two huge aspects of Sanji's character that Oda turned to garbage just for WCI to make sense

Saying that Sanji is not a tactician is like saying that law is a surgeon and not a doctor.

What development have the strawhats had except the generic crew fights they have to deal with like fighting respective enemies like zoro v king or sanji v queen?

The strawhats have had zero notable progression and focusing on filler characters like law the scabbards vergo etc is a big reason why there is NONE.

- Law doing impressive things with a sword doesn't make him a better swordsman, it's all his devil fruit.

- Law is such an effective doctor in large part because of his devil fruit, if anything it makes Chopper look more like an actual medic because he actually develops medicine regularly. Even then both can coexist, it's like saying Marco or Mansherry or the Mink's doctors overshadow Chopper because they can all heal too.

- Sanji was never a tactician, he had very clever moments where he went to do things on his own but was never discussing plans or taking leadership of the crew.

- So what? Law is also interested in the D and the void century, but Robin is ultimately the one who can read the poneglyphs lol

Law isn't even truly a permanent SH and will probably recieve way less screentime after Wano is over so it doesn't matter that much.
