General & Others How will you react when Oda makes it clear that EoS Judge's son can't surpass Alabasta Zoro's CoA?

We are talking about cutting steel here. You don't need advanced Haki to do that. You need advanced Haki to cut Kaido.... :seriously:
why quote me when you keep giving me responses like this

here i will hold your hand through this try your best to keep up and understand this basic shit

THIS IS WHAT LUFFY WANTS TO LEARN TO HURT KAIDO

THIS IS LUFFYS REACTION TO WHAT HYOGORO SHOWS HIM
HE WANTS TO LEARN WHATEVER HYOUGORO JUST SHOWED HIM TO HURT KAIDO

HYOUGORO SHOWS LUFFY THE STEEL CUTTING TECHNIQUE WITHOUT A SWORD

AND AS SEEN ABOVE THATS WHAT LUFFY WANTS TO LEARN TO HURT KAIDO

SO YES STEEL CUTTING TECHNIQUE HURTS KAIDO

so you were wrong in what you said to @Topi Jerami

Jesus christ.... Hyogoro is explaining that the concept of Ryou and Haki are the same thing. He is NOT SAYING Ryou is advanced Haki.

Ryou/Haki = The concept of flowing your Haki into your Sword. Luffy was not trying to flow his Haki into anything, he was trying to make it EXPLODE out of his fist. Cutting attacks and Blunt force attacks are two different things.

Even Zoro was shocked when Luffy damaged Kaido with a punch. That's not something someone with Advanced Haki since freaking Alabasta would be mind blown over....

holy shit youre stupid af

HE LITERALLY SAYS HES SHOWING LUFFY WHAT HE JUST EXPLAINED

WHAT HYOU DOES ON THE GIFTER NEXT IS EXACTLY WHAT HES TELLING LUFFY IN THIS PANEL DONE WITHOUT A SWORD

THIS HAKI BY LUFFYS OWN FUCKING WORDS IS WHAT HE WANTED TO HURT KAIDO

THIS IS THE EXPLODING HAKI LUFFY WANTED TO BREAK KAIDOS SCALES NOT BYPASS BREAK

THIS HAKI USED BY ODEN SCABBARDS ZORO HYOU

BREAKS THROUGH THE SCALES NOT BYPASSES THEM

LUFFY CAN ALSO USE THE INTERNAL THAT BYPASSES THE SCALES AND HURTS HIM FROM THE INSIDE

BUT YOU DO NOT NEED THAT TO HURT KAIDO

clearly im literally showing you word for word what the panels say
and you realise you were talking shit
Lmao, no, because your making arguments against nothing that I am saying.... Nowhere did I state nor imply you need Internal Destruction to damage Kaido....

Invisible Coating
Exploding Barrier Haki
Internal Destruction

^ The three levels of invisible Haki. I literally said the second one is Advanced, and needed to damage Kaido. It is not the same thing needed to cut steel.

All Hyogoro is explaining is that the concept of Ryou and the concept of Haki are the same exact thing, and Ryou (Haki) is the concept behind cutting steel. He's not saying you need fucking Advanced Haki to cut steel.

lmfao no

exploding barrier haki
is just flowing the haki into a weapon without holding a weapon

wait wait wait
are you tryna say to me hyou just gave a big explanation on ryou
then did something completely irrelevant to what hes talking about ?
surely youre not that dumb ?

what haki is kinemon using here genius ?
i dont see no exploding haki like this

No it isn't.... Hyogoro realized what Luffy was trying to do with Exploding Barrier Haki, and went on to explain the concept of Ryou, which is the exact same thing as Haki.... He wasn't saying "Ryou is Advanced Haki."

You're completely ignoring, in your own panels that you are posting, of Hyogoro realizing that Haki and Ryou are the same exact thing.

holy shit what tf is wrong with you

he talks about it first
and says he was known for using it in the past but he doesnt know if he can teach it properly
but take a look for yourself

so hes showing luffy what he was just talking about
and what he is technique used to cut steel or nothing HE USUALLY USES WITH A SWORD
he does it WITHOUT A SWORD
and thats what luffy wanted to know TO HURT KAIDO

Meaning: EoS Judge's son won't learn advanced CoA ever.

P.s.
This is not a what if scenario nor speculation, this is a spoiler.
Imagine thinking Zoro's breath of things was conceived as advanced CoA back in Arabasta and using it in a childish attempt to attack a cartoon character that matters so much to you that you call him "Judge's son". Get some damn culture or brain, whatever you lack.

Barrier haki appears in Alabasta, BOAT was retconned into being barrier haki the same way Mantra was retconned into being CoO

If something is retconned then how can it first appear when it wasn't conceived nor introduced as such.

so luffy didnt have haki until hyou taught him how to use ryou ?
Just a thought: if "haki" is a foreign concept, then what's Wano's concept for basic armament?

Do they have one ? It's a country of swordsmen.

How many haki using brawlers in wano have we seen ?

Even a village in the east blue that's 50 years removed from wano teaches the same concepts of ryou on a blade.

Kawamatsu himself is stated to be the strongest sumo wrestler in Wano, and while they didn't get much focus, there are other fighters apart from swordsmen (and even samurai aren't just swordsmen as stated by Sheepshead, if I recall correctly). So it is very unlikely that they lack a name for such concept, and odds are "ryuo" is indeed the generic name for "haki" (while this doesn't mean that the ryuo Hyogoro was teaching Luffy wasn't advanced or something like that, of course).

No it's really not. Zoro himself used the same concept on his weapon long before he was shown and trained it on his body like luffy does.
Samurai ninja whatever there's no haki using brawlers is my point. Kawamatsu himself uses a sword.

The thing is that Kawamatsu is explicitly both a samurai and a sumo wrestler (no swords there), and he isn't the only sumo wrestler in Wano, so what are the chances that in a thousand years of history (minimum) no brawler has ever applied armament haki to their close combat fighting instead of swordsmanship? Doesn't it sound very unlikely?

That means nothing. Sumo is a sport.
Luffy beat the best sumo (not Inc kawa)
In a sumo match despite never training as one.
Kawa doesn't fight as a sumo
He fights a swordsman.

That's why Oda made Haki specialties a thing.
Luffy enters the chat.

Preach it.
Sanji at least has to be Katakuri level if he will fight Kizaru
Borsalino's opponent is Zoro not Sanji.
  • Borsalino used a sword in his only serious fight against another top tier
    • He has a named techniques for creating said sword "Ame no Murakamo".
    • Said sword is one of Japan's sacred imperial regalia
  • He's repeatedly been paired in battle against the second strongest fighters of a crew
    • With Rayleigh at Sabaody Archipelago
    • With Marco at Marineford
    • With Benn Beckman at Marineford
  • Borsalino has unresolved conflict with Zoro
    • He easily defeated him at Sabaody Archipelago
    • He commented that Zoro must have already been weakened to go down so quickly

Borsalino has literally only ever used his kicks to troll relative fodder.

But that wasn't a technique specifically for cutting steel? It was a technique for cutting through whatever object their wielder wishes:

Zoro applied it to cut through steel (hearing the breath of Daz Bones' steel):
