General & Others I do not understand how people slander whitebeard

The guy who was so dangerous it took the entire navy, 7 warlords, and three admirals to take down the guy who got haki cancer from Roger and is old, is a bum? He has better feats than silhouette man himself Nika. Dude made a entire tsunami using his df, my only complaint is that he didn't use haki to kill kuzan.

Slander has never been something justified some idiots decided lying about a character was fun or jokes and then if someone believed it for real act like they have no responsibility for the lies they spout

WB was a chad indeed. Absolute peak of top tier in his prime and one of the best characters when written well.

That said you're leaving out context. He had his whole crew fighting alongside him in MF, and it wasn't like he singlehandedly fought all those dudes himself. It was an insane performance though considering the state he was in.

Also most slander comes from GV and the Oden FB where his portrayal is a bit less impressive than in MF.

Because he couldn't accomplish his goal of having a real family. Had a woman who was offering herself to him but still didn't wanna bang her.

Then he coward away from fighting kaido because he was scared that there will be many casualties even though it was meant to save his little bro Oden.

He was at the top of fandom rankings in PL for most of the time. Admiral fans couldnt slander him because that would make their favs look pathetic. Yonko fans couldnt slander him because he was their poster boy (MF is probably where the Yonko vs Admiral debate began). Anti sword bros wanted to use WB title to disqualify/demerit Mihawk and save Shanks from WSS title. For the longest time PK was held as the highest level and WB being his equal, the one who sat before the throne but not on it even though he could.

Rayleigh was also similar, he was Luffys master with CoC, hyped by Garp, Sanji fans wanted to have parallels, anti sword bros ranked Ray above Mihawk etc.

These two guys were the most generally respected top tiers in the story and held onto that position for too long. The fan wars raged and new characters were introduced so the slander began. Neither WB nor Ray had a downplay moment in the flashbacks when read with context yet people just want to pull down those who are above.

Him being Xebec's underling in an era that was said to be Xebec's, Roger's and Garp's, really didn't reflect well on him. You had him goon over Shakky, run away from Garp in a 3 vs 1 scenario, his aura took a massive hit.

he is sexist: he doesn't recruit women. only "sons", no "daughters". he only mentors privileged nepobabies like ace. he forces his "sons" to get swastika tattoos! what is this crew? the aryan brotherhood?! i know most here lack the media literacy, but it was red (color of communism) dog akainu who punched that fascist. that is how it is done. not to mention the ugly moustache that evokes reactionary officers from monarchical europe. "white"beard? an allusion to the whites in the russian civil war?

To add to that, yes oda confirmed Whitebeard is a sexist in SbS 76. He forbid women to join his crew as fighters because of his morals...
Yet when he was younger, he had Whitey bay as one of his cremates before leaving to start her own crew. So Loda wrote whitebeard to do this for no reason...

plus he didn't actually fight all of those people
most of the real powerful marines never truly gave a shit about fighting him, kizaru and kuzan were practically trolling the dude
and the warlords mostly didn't care about who won marineford, and thus didn't interfere too much. for example, i don't think we'd have a scene of moria crying on top of the rubble of marineford if the navy lost, same for if the opposite happened. they were just there for the paycheck, this is even more clear with doflamingo's little tangent about how the navy isn't inherently righteous and pirates aren't inherently evil. they technically were helping the marines (besides hancock and jinbe), but they weren't truly picking sides.
