Yep, and that was shown when he painfully slowed down Luffy and the other SNs from reaching the rooftop before by introducing those weird gifter designs.
Rooftop was definitely not fanservice but people like to diminish the feats of certain characters by claiming so, y'know? If it helps them cope, they can very well claim that in my book lmao.

Chapter just proved the portrayal on the rooftop can’t be taken at face value. before unlocking ACoC, people thought/Said ACoA luffy was stronger then Law/Kid.

if Law and Kid can overcome BM's haki density that made it impossible for law to move her then they should be able to do it to Shanks

No it wasn't for fanservice.
Law and kid holding back doesn't change anything either.
It's not like they didn't use haki or something, it would be pointless if they used awakening on the roof because they were overwhelmed quite easily and the changes of beating both of them were zero.
They would end up without energy and they knew that, that's why they wanted to separate kaido and big mom.
In the conversation between zoro and law before zoro used Ashura you can understand that all of them were holding something back.
In all seriousness only haters would argue that the rooftop fight was just for fanservice purposes.

Shanks is my favorite, he will not go out like Big Mom
Rooftop was not a fan service. I am not biggest fan of Zoro but if I say so myself, he was legit on the roof top. No one should take away those cool panels he had be it dragon twister to save luffy from becoming kaido's food and hurting him , to blocking hakai even if for a second( heck even Kidd my favourite character was impressed by that feat and congratulated him) to scarring kaido, he was all round a swell character in rooftop. His feats were dope .

Kidd and law MASSIVELY held back on the rooftop. I mean by massive I literally mean massive. There awakenings are OP. There endurance and stamina movesets those all came to light post Rooftop inside the castle. Why didn't they go all out on the roof top like Zoro, and luffy. Only oda knows but whatever
All trolling aside Who so ever your favourite character is among Zoro, luffy, Kidd, law all of them are monsters and they genuinely have feats to back themselves up. None of them are mid difficulting each other in an 1 on 1 fight. High difficulty at least to extreme difficulty at most for all them if they face each other
