Chapter Discussion In Defense of Sanjino

#67
Hells memories is the large flame Sanji creates using his rage. That’s why when he kicks someone with it, they burst into flames which Luffy never did

:goyea:

Makes sense why Sanjis the only one Oda didn’t draw an impact for unlike the other two
But sanji was bursting into flames himself

His flames simply weren’t strong enough to fully effect Luffy like mars :kata:

it also makes no sense for sanji to not kick him since the main point of the combo was to transfer their physical force towards mars

Nobody actually thinks Impact SR = IJ HM = whatever Bonney’s attack was called, it’s just funny to mock the side by side scaling that Sanji fans desperately cling to in order to leech off Zoro.

The issue that Sanji’s used his strongest attack here, it was combined with two other attacks, and it just gave Luffy a slightly sore ass. That is embarrassing af.

All Oda had to do was not use IJ and there would be literally nothing to comment on.
Always crazy to see Zoro fans complain about Sanji being a leech when Zoros endgoal Mihawk is the biggest leech in the series

Who cares. Sanji and Zoro are two knights and two wings, this is already a symbol and something that cannot be changed. You'll have to get used to seeing them next to each other. Sanji + Zoro forever.

Sanjis flames were burning Luffy you can see multiple burns despite Luffy protecting himself with haki
:goyea:

The combo was to increase the kinetic energy, which superheating an object does so.
:kuzanshut:

Pretty smart way to do it since we know Sanji can’t kick Luffy with Hell Memories as that would hurt Bonney since Hell Memories ignites foes when Sanji kicks them with it

Oda took a fat one on Sanji this week, there is no beating around the bush

No, it isn't a pretty look for Ifrit Jambe to be haphazardly utilized, having to share the stage with Franky and Bonney

But let's cut the shit: it is also petty, and it is being illiterate of Oda's history of chess-playing with the Strawhats, for Zoro fans to single Sanji out this week

Especially when we have an example of Oda doing the exact same thing to Zoro, that he did with Sanji here

Worse yet, Sanji didn't even use his strongest move here lol

If Franky's Strong-Right = Ifrit Jambe, does this mean Flambage Shot = Asura here?

Oda does what is convenient, not what makes the most logical sense from a portrayal perspective. That is why he is willing to treat characters as disposable soldiers at the expense of portrayal, if his ever aging mind finds it a worthy tradeoff that moves the plot along a little further

In closing, let's take turns laughing it up on Sanji this week, but going forward this anti-feat should be left at the door and out of any genuine feat discussion, just like we do with other anti-feats such as Zoro & Luffy vs Apoo, or Luffy vs Gazelle Man, or Zoro vs Carrot
Take a rest from Worstgen and agenda as a whole.

Gag moments like aren't meant to be taken seriously.

Sanjis flames predate the kick with Hells Memories. The first step to the attack is to ignite his body with flames, after that he kicks his opponent the kick then transfers the fire to his opponent and burns them internally and externally when it hits. Otherwise, Sanji is just on fire.

Still waiting for where in the chapter Sanji actually hit Luffy
The full-body flames on HM are an illustration to show how powerful the kick was

We know that the more ''spicy'' or ''hot'' the attack is, the more powerful the kick will be

You don't need to do a lot of mental gymnastics here, it was clearly Sanji's strongest attack

In the preTS, the flambage shot was also portrayed as Sanji's strongest attack, and it was the attack that produced the most flames, so Oda is being clear here on how Sanji's fighting style works

Yes however, Hells Memories is the intensifying and increasing Sanjis flames. It’s not a kick. That’s why the kick on Wadatsumi and Queen are two different types of kicks however the flames are the same.

That’s what this is, Ifrit Jambes flames increasing to the point where the flames dwarf Sanji itself.

Hell Memories is the fire, not the kick.
