Neck would include the entire neck, back and front. In the back there are scales

Not saying he's right , but in Japanese mythology dragons are heavily related to snakes and fish.

Kaido's entire skin is scaly with that brutal durability. Not just where the scales appear to be drawn.

Luffy for example, never hit the scales region, but he in Udon's training says he needs to improve his haki to break Kaido's scales

If Kaido's Mythical Zoan works exactly like Marco's Mythical Zoan, then I guess he can still have his dragon scale protection in his base too. We've seen Marco got pierced through his skull in his human form but it was no different for him, he still didn't feel it as if he was a logia.

Another evidence is that Kaido was still using his Dragon ability in his base while lifting Onigashima after beating the scabbards, he didn't need to transform into beast or hybrid to use his dragon ability.

Mythical Zoans are probably different.

I don't understand what the Oden attack changes lol.

His initial attack didn't cut the scales, but the second one was gonna be directly on the scales.
Saying that he wants to cut Kaido's scaly neck doesn't really change much.

This is an accurate depiction of Kaido dragon physiology down to the cow ear's, plus or minus some scales.

what about all those things listed that dont apply to kaido? and considering that, why should it matter that "clams belly" is listed like it matters in one piece?

No, kaidos belly are also (vestral) scales. Snakes and some lizards have them

For example if you look at top of a Crocodile, his outer skin is tougher, Zoro cut Kaidos outer skin.

The thing with real life animals though, they characteristics dont necessarily have to apply to kaido. For example, the vestral scales of snakes have low-frictional properties for snakes to slide better on the ground. And kaido most resembles snakes, but that doesnt mean his scales are good for low-friction sliding as the mofo is flying around.


But oda has not differentiated between the dorsal or ventral scales, so i heavily doubt any of this is relevant anyway.
