By being a character in shounen manga where enemies increase in power as story goes ( not to mention Aokiji is missing his leg now ) . Akainu killing Ace , leaving scar on Luffy body nearly killing him and being current fleet admiral leader of main opposing force , sets in stone his future fight with Luffy.
Luffy will get stronger until then and its perfectly understandable Akainu will be too in order to match him.

I am not overestimating anything there is still much progress for them to make best example is Zoro and his dream . It is said Mihawl is waiting for someone stronger than Shanks to emerge in order to challenge / surpass him. This makes it perfectly clear Eos Zoro will be stronger than Mihawk and Shanks.
Its clear there is still a lot to reach that level . Same applies to Luffy .

I am not assuming anything Luffy will not wage war with World gov. and then just sail to laugh tale. Not only it doesnt make any sense but manga clearly foretold final war after events of finding one piece .
Luffy needs payback time for Ace death and scar on his body that still itches at mentioning Akainu name. You heard Dragon was former marine and just started throwing baseless assumptions completely ignoring what did happen at Marineford.

Kaido didn't validate shit. The fact that Shanks and his crew appeared at Marineford with 0 injury is already bad sign for Kaido.
The fact that Kaido went home and never appeared at Marineford is another bad sign.
Not coincidence, the event looks exactly the same with Greenbull's situation, which is also done by same Shanks.
Verdict: Kaido got wifi diffed.
Aokiji missing a leg is a downgrade for him, and not upgrade for Akainu.

Shanks is underrated when you have plebs basically saying Shanks didn't start going after One Piece when Whitebeard, Kaido and Meme was still around. As if Shanks feared them, while actually Shanks openly fainted WB's men in front of him and sent the chicken home.
The fact that Kaido went home and never appeared at Marineford is another bad sign.

- The fact that during the revelation of the rewards, Kaidou was the one whose individual strength was emphasized and not Shanks, with the exaggeration about Shanks falling on his commanders, who were already well-renowned worldwide.
- The fact that Kaidou only sees Shanks as capable of fighting against him and not superior is already a bad sign.
- The fact that Kaidou is recognized worldwide as the best 1v1 fighter after facing Shanks is already a bad sign for Shanks.
- The fact that Eiichiro Oda named chapter 996 as "the island of the strongest" is already a bad sign for Shanks.
- The fact that Eiichiro Oda refers to Kaidou as the strongest man in the world in SBS 98, discussing Gear 5, is already a bad sign for Shanks.

- The fact that it is confirmed that Kaidou only had King by his side 2 years ago in the confrontation against Shanks and yet both King and Kaidou were not defeated by Shanks + his entire crew is already a bad sign for Shanks.
So, what's worse? You figuring out, with all your wisdom, what happened between Shanks and Kaido two years ago, something that was left off-panel in the manga (making up anything), or Oda messing up Shanks with Kaido?

I wouldn't say wifi diffed but simply due to Shanks having his whole crew while Kaido only had king, so bad match and makes sense he went back, shanks would've never gone to kaido by himself he too much of a puss.
It's true he didn't go after it, both kaido and linlin had poneglyphs, and it just aligns well when Kaido has fallen that he says that (even tho joyboy awakened, not sure if shanks was aware)
