So we hope lol, i do hope theres a good lore reason for this outside of twin memes. Not even Sanji's genetically modified quadruplet twins look this similar from a profile. Im sure he'll look different but red hair and sporting the same exact goatee is silly imo, especially if he's hiding his appearance

Exactly, to me it'd be far more surprising if it was actually Shanks than not

The goal is not to surprise your '' level '' of reader, but to lead the average reader to a win condition for lack of a better word..

All those similarities between Shanks and Pranks are there to make you believe that it's Shanks in the first place not Shanks after the fact..
The clue is realizing for the casual readers that Shanks' face is kept in the same angle to hide his missing scar.. And perceiving that this chapter is an identic mirror to Yonji and Reiju..

It's Komurasaki in reverse, it was too obvious that it was Hiyori, people were saying it's not the same person.. Now it's too obvious that it's not Shanks, it must be Shanks..
