Yes, but I'm not sure it will happen the way we think.
The goals of the strawhats in One Piece are linked to the needs of the characters. In stories, the needs are what the character need to become to be better or feel better.
I don't think that defeating Mihawk only will achieve Zoro's dream and solve his need. It could and it would be cool, but Oda loves to add twists.
What I would do at his place, is make Zoro defeat the greatest swordman...
but as a female. We know that Doc Q has the power to transform the gender of people. And Zoro, under this spell, could very well refuse to change his gender. In fact I can picture the scene perfectly:
> Let's say that for some reason... Mihawk is actually defeated.. but NOT by Zoro.. but
Shiryu.
> Now, let's say that in the final battle, Zoro is facing Shiryu and - for some reason - Doc Q transforms Zoro into a female.
> Zoro : "What ?! What happened to my body !" - "I can't fight like that!"
> Then follows a number of peripeties along which Zoro needs to avoid the attacks of Shiryu.. Zoro starts to panic
> Shiryu : "You are right to panic ! No woman can beat a man !"
> Zoro .. surprised and Flashback to these moments:
> Shiryu : "You will never be able to beat me in this form"
> Zoro.. calms down
> Zoro : "Shut up"
> Shiryu : "Why don't you try to go back to your old self ! I'll will wait hahaha
> Zoro putting his bandana on (as a female still) : "..."
> Shiryu : "Women are such pathetic creatures, they lack strenght, they lack rapidity, they..
> Zoro, holding the Wado Ichimonji : "One sword style..."
> SLASH, first real strike on Shiryu (or final strike, why not)
I think this would be glorious, and it would bring everything back together. Zoro would literally become the world strongest man AND strongest female with the Sword of Kuina.
Thus completing if grieving process and accepting finally to let the memory of his friend rest in peace.
