The Seerah of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. is a good start as well the youtube channel Kings and Generals if you want to know about battles in Islamic history
Yes honestly I have messed up a lot this month may Allah forgive me, but I have yet to miss a prayer or a fast and am trying to focus on my Qu'ran. Ramadan is so close to being over, honestly went by too quickly. I love reading Quran and doing dhikr now, a whole difference between me last year and now.

Been slacking in my Qu'ran readings however, and am only on Juz 15
Like Allah says in Quran
{ وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ طَرَفَیِ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَزُلَفࣰا مِّنَ ٱلَّیۡلِۚ إِنَّ ٱلۡحَسَنَـٰتِ یُذۡهِبۡنَ ٱلسَّیِّـَٔاتِۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ ذِكۡرَىٰ لِلذَّ ٰكِرِینَ }
[Surah Hûd: 114] And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.
If you do bad, follow it up with a good deed and the bad deed is as if you never committed it mate.
Say, O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allāh. Indeed, Allāh forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
Ik its sad that we couldn't make the most this month rather persisted with our worst aspects but if you have hit rock bottom the only was is up.. And Allah is the most general
you gotta do alot of self-introspection bahi..
is it really preferable to be soo mentally numbed that you can't decide and feel whether something is right or wrong..it a means to mental and physical destruction but guess what that informaiton won't help you coz its now cliche to you and you are too numb to understand it and properly fear it rather than just getting the gist of it, Its all about the effort you put in to fight..and wallahi ik you try your best.. Just know that this is one battle you mustn't give up.. If you're unable to cope with it.. Ask the all able...
This deed really robs you of yourself..its all about saving yourself from something that this deed has made you so numb at time that you can't even think of fearing to become let alone register.
O you who have believed, fear Allāh. And let every soul look to what it has put forth for tomorrow - and fear Allāh. Indeed, Allāh is Aware of what you do.And be not like those who forgot Allāh, so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient.
But there is one thing that only you can about this. It is to have mercy on yourself and giving this deed up..don't loose yourself no matter the pleasure.. And remebr once you loose the means to regret or the fact that this is a sin in God's eyes.. You'll enter a really dark stage while dealing with this deed it is literally what the verse above says.. You start loosing youself to pleasure and you comply to it than what's right..
Ibn Katheer’s Al Bidayah wan Nihayah is one of the more extensive books on Islamic history, but the full version is in Classical Arabic and it’s like at least 10 volumes iirc. There are abridged versions that focus on specific time periods that have been translated. If you want to focus on the story of the prophets a da’ee named Belal Assad has a series on it in YT. Haven’t seen it myself but been told it’s solid. Most books on the Seerah also summarize the history from the time of Ismail AS so there’s that too.

Whatever happens don’t leave off the prayer and dua. You’ve made progress, failure is just another step towards success.
The wisdom in it is that nobody knows exactly. It could be any one of the last ten days of the month of Ramadan, and the wisdom there is that we would be more pious and devoted to our deen and through that devotion we would earn Allah's mercy and forgiveness

Some background Hadith not sure if Sahih, the knowledge of Laylatul Qadr was with the Prophet SA, but he was confused and forgot as some men were arguing within the Masjid.
Allah knows best of course, maybe it was supposed to be this way. If we knew, then we would sin all year and only go hard worshipping Allah one day of the year because of its equivalence to 83 years of worship.

All praise is due to Allah to whose greatness our praises cannot encompass. All the purest praise belongs to Him who encompasses us in his mercy and benevolence and nothing encompasses him and could ever encompass him. All the immaculate praise belongs to him who blessed us with his mercy.
My Brethren,
Ramadan has come knocking on our doors at momentous time, it comes when the year we have spent thus far and what preceded it in headlessness and sins. It is the epitome of reminders that even after all of our transgressions Allah made it sure that we lived long enough to witness this blessing among blessing, quintessence of his رحمة , and an invaluable treasure trove of good. I implore my brethren to capitalize this blessing and embrace it wholly and do not neglect this oppetunity provided on a silver plate by your Lord.
"The month of Ramaḍān [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’ān, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the crescent of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allāh intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allāh for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful"
It is the month where the quran was revealed, it is the month where Jibraeel (upong him is peace ) used to revise the quran with Muhammad ( peace and blessings be upon him)It is the month where the Muhammed (PBUH) became the seal of the prophets for his people and thereafter until the day of Judgement.
The immeasurable importance there is in this month cannot be described.. Every deed, and every intention made in this month will amount to mountains on the scale. So make it count.
This month is month a month of mercy it is the month where the prophet mentions in a Hadith
"The month of Ramadan has come, a blessed month in which Allah Almighty has obligated you to fast. In it the gates of the heavens are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed, the devils are chained, and in it is a night that is better than a thousand months. Thus, whoever is deprived of its good is truly deprived."
-Musnad Imam Ahmad
It is the month to ask Allah from his bounty.. It is the month where as his slaves we work harder to improve ourselves as humans for his sake.
Allah says in the verse right after the verse of Ramadan
{ وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِی عَنِّی فَإِنِّی قَرِیبٌۖ أُجِیبُ دَعۡوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِۖ فَلۡیَسۡتَجِیبُوا۟ لِی وَلۡیُؤۡمِنُوا۟ بِی لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡشُدُونَ }
[Surah Al-Baqarah: 186]
"And when My servants ask you, [O Muḥammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided."
Don't let this purity that god has destined for you be of naught
As much as this month is an epitome of mercy.. It is a month of forgiveness and abstinence.
I implore you all to hold your tongues from obscenity as ambassador of your faith in this forum save yourself from idle talk and treat people here with kindness like
The prophet (pbuh) in the following narrations about mannerism :
"Yazid ibn Asad reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me, “O Yazid, love for people what you love for yourself.”
In another narration, the Prophet said, “Do not treat people but in the way you would love to be treated by them.”
Source: Musnad Aḥmad 16220
In another narration, the Prophet said, “Do not treat people but in the way you would love to be treated by them.”

"Verily, obscenity and immorality are not part of Islam. Verily, the best people in Islam are those with the best character."
Source: Musnad Aḥmad 20320,
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Fasting is a shield as long as you do not damage it.” It was said, “How does one damage it?” The Prophet said, “By dishonesty or backbiting.”
Source: al-Mu’jam al-Awsaṭ lil-Ṭabarānī 4536
Allah says in the quran :
“Not a word does one utter, except that there is an (angel) Watching, Ready to record it.” [Surah Qaaf: 18]
In another narration the prophet (pbuh) says:
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He who believes in Allah and the Last Day must either speak good or remain silent." [Muslim].
Last but not least but the most important it is to fulfill Allah's rights upon you.
Remind eachother of good and forbid evil.. And fear Allah wherever you are as Allah states in the Quran
"You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allāh. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient"
And I'll end with this.. To this blessed start of this month
With these verse that we should be a standard for us.. In this month and after.
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace, And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer] And those who say, Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence. And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderateAnd those who do not invoke with Allāh another deity or kill the soul which Allāh has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty.Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated -Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allāh will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allāh Forgiving and Merciful. And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allāh with [accepted] repentance. And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech, they pass by with dignity. And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind. And those who say, Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us a leader [i.e., example] for the righteous.
Those will be awarded the Chamber for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace,Abiding eternally therein. Good is the settlement and residence.Say, What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication? For you [disbelievers] have denied, so it [i.e., your denial] is going to be adherent.
Let this be a month of the best of changes within ourselves.. lets not just hope.. our prophets went through the most hardships as the best of the examples.. They moved in their aspirations for god with hope and adherence.. Not just with feelings of change within.
The examples lie before us.. Its is for us to take heed.
With that I end with a core reminder from the quran
And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech - in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless.
May Allah ease the gain of good rewards for you all, guide you away from the wrong path, and bless you with wisdom. His mercy is all encompassing so may we be the ones he is merciful towards in this world and the next
Ramadan mubarak to all
If you guys want the thread to be more active in Ramadan maybe we could do an Iftar series - post our meals for the day. Or create a group PM and share daily hadith, ayat, or general pieces of wisdom
